We initially stayed for 8 nights in this hostel with SMALL but very CLEAN rooms. We returned for 7 more nights. The owners of Australian Guesthouse own 8 hostels in the Chungking Mansion. One of the best things about this hostel is its location. Within 200 feet of the entrance are four shopping centers including iSquare, the Tsim Sha Tsui... More

Avoid this hotel and the management. We were forced into one room and had to share beds even though we had paid for two rooms. The room lacked in bedding and had no towels. No refunds and the management is more unyielding than a ferret with a hemorrhoid. A myriad of different hostels are run by the same gang in... More

We booked 2 rooms for 4 people at the New Tokyo Hostel however the management insisted we had booked two rooms. Once they realised their mistake they woke us up at 2am to try and give us a room key for our other room. They said that because they had given it to us at this time they would not... More

Stayed here for 1 week & although the rooms are most small & beds are most hard, plus no windows in room either - however great for budget travelling & has a personal safe in room for your belongings. Best feature is the location - you are amongst everything as soon as you walk out into the street - fantastic... More

A tiny room and even tinier ensuite but very clean, with TV and air conditioning. The "kitchen" was a microwave and electric jug in the corridor but with free coffee and filtered water. Always a queue to use the lifts. It was on the 16th floor of a large building that had food shops on the ground floor. We wouldn't... More

The building the hostel in is horrible with people hanging around at the entrance and the lift being a pain to use to get to the hostel as they are tiny and was a bit difficult to find at first. The hostel was clean and basic, would only stay by myself as if there was another person there wouldn't be... More

we booked for a double room but a family room of four was given to us, thank God that we do not need to pay more for that. The staffs are friendly, the water heater gives a constant heating temperature, and It's only walking distance from MRT and bus station, it's very convenient tat we did not need to carry... More

Surrounding area is a bit scary, especially in night time, and it`s not very easy to find entrance to the hostel itself, then, ladders don`t encourage at all (if you prefer not to wait too long for elevators), but the rooms are nice and safe - rooms area is separated from other part of building. Very small, talking about separate... More

The hostel entrance is dingy and you see people who stay up late at night my only guess is they sell drugs or sex. very tiny elevator. very small corridor. hostel staff are in house clothes and they don't even comb their hair. Though they are friendly, easy to talk to, and assist you. Toilet is just right. hot and... More

If you have followed my reviews you know that most of them are quite favourable. This will not be one of them. During the booking I knew that the place will be a hostel, which would have been ok but.... We arrived quite late and made our way up to the 8th floor as described on our booking. After departing...
