The location is in Tsim Hsa Tsui, which is great, but other than that, everyrhing was horrible. The building was dirty, the people in shops downstairs are scary and looks dangerous, offering you to buy stuffs. The lift was small and very slow. The staffs are ignorant. The room was ok, the bathroom was extra small

We had a triple room for 3 adults and it was a good size room for Hong Kong. If you haven't traveled to Hong Kong before this is a good place to experience all the diversity Hong Kong has to offer. The location is great close to everything you will need and close to the sights to. Dont be put... More

Australian guesthouse is in Chungking mansion, so for people who are looking for a nice place to stay Chungking mansion sure isn't the the best address in Hong Kong. But for those travelling on a budget Chungking Mansion has most options centrally located in Tsimshatsui - Hongkong. From those guesthouses in Chingking Mansion the AUSTRALIAN GUESTHOUSE has been the best... More

I and my wife booked the double room for one week in this guesthouse We read the reviews and they were overall favorable. When we got there we were struck by the deplorable state of the place. We could not image that places like this exist. First you have to push through the sales persons on the first floor, then... More

For a single, open-minded budget traveller, staying at Chungking Mansions is a relatively comfortable experience if you are aware of certain details. What to expect at virtually ALL Chungking Mansions hostels and hotels: moody Pakistani guys; tiny rooms; shower on the toilet; no view at all (your window probably will be very, very high and small); very long lines at... This review may already long overdue but the dates doesn't matter because we never got our accomodation anyway. We booked our stay at Australian Guesthouse weeks before our trip and we already paid our stay in advance and in full. I even talked to the owner over the phone from the Philippines just to confirm that we were definitely coming.... More

My friend booked 3 family rooms (two double beds) via Booking.com in Australian Guesthouse for one night for 13 people. However when we checked in, only one family room is available. What happened is they gave us 5 rooms (1 family, 2 deluxe double and 2 standard double). Unfortunately, my roommate and I got the standard double which is of... More

Everything everyone says on both sides about this guest house is true BUT surely you travel to experience different cultures and have different experiences and its how you perceive what you receive and be very clear what you are booking. The rooms are small but exactly what is shown on the photos. They are clean and its amazing what they... More
