I was somewhat worried about my stay here as the reviews were not great, but was pleasantly surprised. We had a three bed room and it was small but not horrible. We stayed on the 10th floor and felt completely safe. The rooms were clean and we had a tv. The bathroom was quite tiny, and the water heater didn't... More

We stayed in a 4 bed room. To say it was small would be an understatement. I was fully aware that rooms in the Mong Kok area were small prior to booking but this was uncomfortably claustrophobic and we had windows! There were 4 of us staying in the room, with only one person being able to move around the... More

We spent 3 nights at A Shan or A Inn Hostel in Mongkok and were pleased with the service. Booked this place through hostelbookers.com months in advance. However upon arrival at the place, they couldn't seem to find out reservations. Finally after researching they were able to find our reservation but our rooms were not available. They did offer an... They had someone cleaning everyday, I guess it's the facilities that were just terrible. We were on 8th floor, but hot water never worked, toilet broke twice in two days and we had guests from other floors queuing up to use, lifts hardly worked (were lucky if they did otherwise we had to walk 8 flights every time we left... We stayed here for five nights in december 2012. We had a small room with bathroom. Room was very clean and Wi-Fi worked well. Location is very good. Hotel is located 14 floors, the only thing that bothered was a slow elevator.

I think it was this one I stayed at. The Dragon hostel, A-Inn and Ah Shan all seem to be owned by the same people. The dorm was just 3 beds and plenty spacious enough. Plenty of plugs. Bathroom ok. Towels provided were nice and big. Hot water available and location fantastic - right by the Ladies Market and easy... More

We stayed for one night. Great location and the area will have everything you’ll need. This hostel has a fridge you can use and cold and hot water for your beverage needs. Our room was small and clean and had no window :( Wi-Fi worked in the room, but was a bit slow. We have previously stayed at another place... More

Stayed there for 3 days and two nights. The place was crazy convinient since its in the heart of mongkok. It's close to three Seven-Eleven branches, branded shops, big malls and a money changer that has the highest rates in the area. In three words I can say that its decent, clean, and small. The front desk lady during the... More

I stayed in another hostel in the same building before so it wasn't hard to locate. TThe entrance is just beside a food stall that sells smelly tofu and all sorts of HK snacks. I like it that the room area that I stayed in had an extra door that required a key to enter. That gives me assurance and... More

Staying in Mong Kok

Neighborhood Profile
Mong Kok
It’s one of the highest density districts in the world, so come to Mong Kok prepared for action. Home to every market, restaurant and shopping arcade imaginable, Mong Kok is the one-stop shop to satisfy all your shopping needs. Dust off your finest negotiation skills and dive into the bartering frenzy. Similar retailers will conveniently congregate in the same area forming easy to remember references such as “flower street” and “sneakers street.” Here you will also find various local delicacies being served at street snack shops or hole-in-the-wall restaurants. One reliable rule of thumb: the smaller the place, the better the food.
