Chung King Mansions were one of the main attractions for me to come to Hong Kong as a keen photographer and lover of strange things. The whole place is fascinating, but you will certainly be hassled constantly and my reccommendation is to know where you want to stay and stick with it! There are over 300 hostels and hotels in... What i like most about this budget hostel is the location and close proximity to MTR, ferry terminals, airport bus and the shopping belt. Within less than 5 mins, you can walk and access to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR. The Star Ferry Terminal and the China Macau Ferry terminas are also about 10 mins walking distance from the hostel. This... This hostel is in a building (Choung Kim Mansions) well know for having for a cheapest prices in Hong Kong. It's a place where could you find a lot of hostels. The Apple Hostel is a friendly hostel with lovely staff, but if you are claustrophobic, don´t go there. Positive points: Clean wifi inside the rooms Staff friendly and helpful... More

Ok. So Chunking Mansions has a bit of a reputation for being insanely creepy, and I wont deny that. But if you are used to travelling around a bit and are fairly confident with strangers trying to grab your attention then you have nothing to worry about. To get to the Hostel, you have to go on a very small... More

The Apple Hostel is a solid little budget accommodation, although I probably would not stay in the Chunking Mansions again. As two fairly young and small female travellers on our own, I just didn't feel comfortable being accosted by all the men lurking out front every time we exited or entered the Mansions. And the stairwells and building in general... More

This is a really neat hostel tucked back in the notorious Chungking mansions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chungking_Mansions You're going to see another side of Hong Kong if you stay here and if your adventurous you won't be sorry. The rooms at Apple Hostel are clean and tidy and tiny. My toilet was in the shower. That was totally cool and a first for... More

The hostel is located in the center of the city, a good place to stay, a short walk to the Star Ferry and MTR Station, and a perfect location for shopping just outside the Chungking Mansions. The location of the hostel also allows you to walk to nearby tourist areas like the Avenue of the Stars, the Museum of Arts,... More

The Chungking Mansions are what they are, but Apple Hostel is a great choice among all what's offered in there. The rooms are tiny as everywhere and of course you wait in the same line for the elevator, but it's impeccably clean, towels are changed daily, staff is helpful and friendly, Wifi works great. Very good value for money and... More

I had heard a bit about Chungking Mansions but until you have experienced them don't believe all that you hear. I enjoyed my stay in the Apple Hostel on the 10th floor, however the lifts took a little getting used too as there is one for odd numbered floors and one for even floors, thay are also quite slow. The... More

This guesthouse is a perfectly decent choice for travellers unwilling or unable to pay the typical local hotel prices, starting somewhere around 700 HK$ in TST and 1000 on the Island. Relatively conveniently located in the famous Chungking Mansions (MTR station around the corner, 10 min walk to the southern shoreline, Temple Str is one subway station away, airport bus... More
