We stayed at the sohotel after a grueling NY-Hong Kong trip. For the most part all went ok, but one day we were told by the staff that we had damaged the bed's heardboard. We were shown some holes and scratches in it that we had no idea where they had come from (or how we could have damaged). The... More

The staff who sent us wine opener and mini fridge is really nice. Compliment for him. Excellent information, staff efficiency, staff courtesy. Wonderful guest room. Very good room service and out-of-expected nice breakfast.

Small bedrooms like most of mid range hotels in Hong Kong, breakfast in bedroom at your chosen time consists of croissants and cakes or toast, butter and marmalade and a pot of tea. Furnished modern contemporary style, very fresh smelling reception smells like flowers, lots of restaurants nearby including McDonald's if you fancy something plain. Spotless clean, non smoking hotel.... More

Front desk staff were cold and clinical. Asked if they sell stamps and instead of asking the question, the male staff member did not even look up from what he was doing and only asked for room number. very off-putting. And it's not like the hotel is giving a discount for the purchase even. Pls remember that you are not... More

As I visit Hong Kong on a frequent basis, I'm looking to reduce my hotel bills by using mid-range hotels. Sohotel is a regular booking. It has a convenient location in Sheung Wan, a short walk from the MTR. In the evenings I often walk to the bars and restaurants around the mid-levels escalator, or to the Central ferry terminal... As the title says the rooms are tiny even by Hong Kong standards. Location is good. Staff were friendly and efficient with above average English understanding. Shower was excellent, hot and powerful, a big change from most we found on the mainland. Adequate for business or short stays.

Good location, you can walk to most of the places you'd want to in Central HK. It's clean it's comfortable and it's pretty easy to find after a few drinks. I can't say there was anything too special about it but I'm pretty sure they don't intend it either. Cheap, clean, good location, friendly english speaking staff (and not bazaarly... More

Stayed in the superior double room for 4 nights. Room was compact, with a space for table and luggage space (unopened luggages tho). Pretty decent price for the space, was able to squeeze a space between the toilet door and the bed for a morning workout. Reception staff is really friendly, especially Pauline and Joey whom have helped us on... More

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighborhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
