Most of the facilities are broken. No hot water unlike promised and the toilets are faulty. When I stay here there is construction on above level but there was no early notice from the owner. The room is dirty and very unkempt, cracks on the window and dusty floor. There's no 24 hours reception and the one in charge can't... More

As budget travellers, we booked a family room with 2 dbl beds for 4 nights. Didnt care how small it was but it was comfty enough to just sleep for and rest.. Besides we were out most of the time..nice people and they clean the room daily..realy in the heart of causeway bay..

Our 4Days/3Night stay was great. It was at the same place where the Hong Kong Hostel was but this was cheaper. We only needed a place to sleep as most of our day we'd be out and about. Halal food was easy to find. The subway station was just downstairs under the building. We came with our 3 children (15,11... More

just saw pics of our hk trip a few years ago and decided to post it here. we stayed in marlboro hostel along patterson street, causeway bay. i remember we had a hard time looking for the place since the website wasn't updated and the signage wasn't clear. anyway, they have a security 24/7 and you need a code to... Booked through Hosltel World for a HK trip around August 2012. When we got there, after about an hour looking for the place, they apparently don't check bookings through English sites (I don't know why they listed themselves there, though). The receptionists I met were mere High Schoolers and weren't at all hospitable. They said that there was no booking... More

I checked out this hostel and was shown 2 rooms. a small and a smaller room. I said I was going to think over which one I would take, have lunch and come back later. But the guy said I had to decide right there and there and if I left, not to return anymore. What a way to deal... More

I booked a "private single ensuite" room through hostelbookers.com for 5 nights at HKD 380.00 per night. The room I was given was little more than a cupboard right next to the reception area. It measured 1.2m wide. It had a sliding door with a gap all around it so I was woken at 7am every morning by constant, very... More

I travelled to Hongkong June 10-13, 2009 with my 4 nephews (all below 12 years old) and my 21 year old cousin and 25 year old niece. The location of this hotel is its best feature. The staff were friendly and helpful. The price is reasonable and commensurate with the size of the room, but the location of the hotel... More

After our horrible experience in another nearby hostel, this hostel was like a life-saver. The staff was the complete opposite, very accommodating and although they knew very limited english, you could see their willingness to serve their customers. The rooms were not spectacular but very clean, the CR was still small but the service definitely made up for any thing... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
