the hotel is ok for a cheaper hong kong stay... it is within reasonable distance from both causeway bay and wanchai metros. there are some good restaurants in the near vicinity and convenience stores as well. there are frequent taxis in the nearby streets and a kowloon taxi rank in the next street... bed is a little hard... strange smell... Stayed at the King Hotel last week with the lads for the rugby sevens. Reception staff not very friendly but booking in was quick. My room was on 19th floor and had a pleasant view of the harbour. The room was clean and the air conditioning worked but the bed has to be the hardest ever to the point if... More

Upon arrival we felt really uncomfortable! The staff are extremely rude and would probably hurt themselves if they smiled!... The location is great but the beds are terribly hard and the rooms are very basic!... On arrival we had to pay a $500 deposit and when i came to check out this wasn't given back to me due to they... After searching high and low for a decent clean hotel with good price we settled for this one.A short 3 nights over the weekend trip and paid a decent price for the location. The hotel itself is good if you dont expect any extra frills. We booked online, checking in and out was a breezed. A proper 2/3 star hotel... More

This hotel has location but sadly little else, very close to ferry, bus and train and lots of interesting restaurants and markets. But sadly it is run down somewhat. The room is cleaned every day with fresh linen and towels but that is about it. I think they are trying very hard to restore some form of grandeur, a long... More

hard to find... make sure you can show the taxi driver the Chinese name of the hotel.. it's not very obvious... a bit far from Wan Chai... 10 min walk to all the bars... and definitely a cheap, no frills hotel. There is no food... reception is on the 11th floor... and rooms are old, not very clean (just OK),... More

Confusion at first for our Taxi driver..according to his language the word King should be Prince! Position is handy for ferries and shopping. However Karaoke at night kept us awake till 3 am...... Reception is on 11th floor..staff reluctant to try to communicate with us..perhaps used to Chinese patrons only. No excuse..room adequate and clean..soundproofing could be better. When we tried... The reason we stayed at this hotel many times was the location and price. It's close to the ferry dock for Tsim Sha Tsui and 2 subway stations. Tons of restaurants and shops nearby. Rooms are very small but there's a pantry and a mini fridge in every room we've stayed in.

There is not really much I can say about this hotel that is good. The only good things would be that it's near(ish) Wan Chai station and has an air conditioned reception. As soon as you walk in the door this strange smell hits you that I can only describe as cheesy feet. Reception is located on the 11th floor.... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
