After making the mistake of walking to it from the subway at 11pm at night i was dreading the cheap hotel i had booked in the centre of hong kong. Yes the rooms are tiny but they are well laid out and clean. the bed was next to a full window high up and the shower room new and not... More

I visited HK for 7 nights, whilst I loved the city unfortunately I can't say the same for Kings Hotel. Upon arrival, the staff at reception were unfriendly and not helpful at all with suggestions of places to visit nearby! I also had to pay a deposit of $500 on a credit card which was not advised at the time... More

Stayed here for 6 nights, upon check in we had to give a $500 deposit on a credit card, which was not advised at time of booking. The staff were completely unhelpful and not forthcoming at all with any advice for places to visit in the city or anything close by. We booked a superior room, which was small, but... More

Nice place. In Hongkong you can't expect a spacious hotel room if you are looking for a cheap room..they are not strict as to the number of people staying. It's just hard to communicate with the staff because they cannot understand english. In our case, we never meet a staff who can somehow at least speak or understand basic english...... More

Very cheap, and we weren't staying in the hotel itself very much. Mainly just exploring. But as seems to be a common theme on here, the beds were incredibly hard. I hard a duvet down to lie on, and it was still wayyyyyyyyy hard. Basically it was like lying on perhaps something slightly harder than grass. It'd feel okay to... More

Even from an ex-futon sleeper - the beds are too uncomfortable to get a decent night's rest. Staff are really friendly and I cannot fault the service or location. We stayed in the family room which was perfectly adequate considering the price.

the hotel is ok for a cheaper hong kong stay... it is within reasonable distance from both causeway bay and wanchai metros. there are some good restaurants in the near vicinity and convenience stores as well. there are frequent taxis in the nearby streets and a kowloon taxi rank in the next street... bed is a little hard... strange smell... Stayed at the King Hotel last week with the lads for the rugby sevens. Reception staff not very friendly but booking in was quick. My room was on 19th floor and had a pleasant view of the harbour. The room was clean and the air conditioning worked but the bed has to be the hardest ever to the point if... More

Upon arrival we felt really uncomfortable! The staff are extremely rude and would probably hurt themselves if they smiled!... The location is great but the beds are terribly hard and the rooms are very basic!... On arrival we had to pay a $500 deposit and when i came to check out this wasn't given back to me due to they... After searching high and low for a decent clean hotel with good price we settled for this one.A short 3 nights over the weekend trip and paid a decent price for the location. The hotel itself is good if you dont expect any extra frills. We booked online, checking in and out was a breezed. A proper 2/3 star hotel... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
