The location is pretty good, everything is accessible. The building is quite old and also the rooms are pretty small but clean. When we stayed there, staff and the receptionist was nice but not as helpful since we hardly understand each other. If ever I'll be in Hongkong again, I can stay here again. :)

Stayed here one night in May, the rooms were clean and comfy. No compalints. Location is pretty good as well. Service, however, was the absolute rudest I have ever dealt with. And for that, I will not ever be staying here again.

I am writing this review from my room at the San Diego. The bed is like a boxspring with no mattress laying on the floor, and all night all you hear is banging and alarms. I have been here for 4 nights now and this is by far the worst hotel I have stayed at in the 10 years I... More

I travel to Hong Kong regularly to shop and eat world class food. My last trip ( oct. 2011 ) I made the mistake of staying at the San Diego hotel in Kowloon, the price was WAY too high for what I got. The room was $200 (US) per night, the most shocking part was they DO NOT clean your... More

I was very diappointed at this hotel service and staff. 1. No housekeeping at 5pm. I claimed, but they just say they'll do soon. They should have appologized their fault. 2. DVD player corruption. I had a cold, so I stayed at hotel at night watching DVD. I'm afraid the DVD was broken. So I asked them to replace it.... More

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighborhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighborhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamorous or busy as its neighbors Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighborhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighborhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
