We stayed at the cityview after staying at another hotel in Hong Kong and were really disappointed with our room. It is not worth $100 a night. It's a hotel that gets the job done-which means, there's nothing new or fancy or bright about it. It's basic and simple...and I think you can get that for much cheaper. We finally... More

It's my 2nd time staying in The Cityview. And it won't be the last :) I love The Cityview because it is so accessible to everywhere; MTR, ladies market, food, temple street, etc. MTR is just a 1-min walk and it bring you to everywhere you want to go. You can even from avenue of stars, passing Nathan road where... More

Best way to reach the hotel from the airport is to take the express train and free shuttle bus (K5) . It's the first stop after KOwloon station and it only cost 90 HKD. MTR station Yau Ma tei is only 1 minute away. Very easy acces to temple market, ladies market and jade market. Great sightseeing tip: take MTR... More

As it wasn't our first trip to HKG, Cityview surprises me with great service and absolute cleanliness. On the outside, it looks absolutely grand and so does inside. The room is spacious and clean. I would feel so guilty for not putting up this review as they made our stay felt like home. Highly recommended for budget backpackers!

The hotel is perfect for exploring the city.Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a huge choice. All the staff were efficient and friendly, Special mention to the bell boy who when asked for a good place to eat in the evening, escorted us to a local restaurant and advised us what to eat. It was an excellent meal.... More

Very easy to get to from the airport. City Express train to Kowloon and then the free shuttle bus K5 to the door. We'd missed our flight so we made a booking at the hotel desk in the airport our executive double room for one night was £80. We had a lovely room, very clean, large comfy bed, big bathroom,... I read reviews about this hotel before we went and to be honest was not sure but went ahead and booked it. The road outside the hotel can be quite busy, but we had no trouble with noise from it and our room was side on to the road. The rooms are quite small like other reviews said, but very... More

Location - Very Good - Hong Kong didn't feel like a particularly huge city. Could walk to the ferry in around 40 minutes, not far from Temple Market or the ladies market. If you didn't fancy walking then then the excellent and cheap metro is just around the corner. Breakfast - Excellent - Loads of choice, someone there cooking eggs... More

The Cityview Hotel is extremely well located, next to the Mass Transit System or underground rail. The underground is not even a five (5) minute walk away from the hotel, giving tourists east access to Hong Kong. We stayed in the lowest category room but it was spacious enough and extremely clean. I had arrived at 09:00 at the hotel... More

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighborhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighborhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamorous or busy as its neighbors Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighborhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighborhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
