Ok, where to begin? I stayed in two 'hostels' in the block of flats that is Chung King Mansion - while I did enjoy the multicultural feel of the indoor market areas downstairs, the accommodation itself left much to be desired. There are no dorm-rooms, only single rooms. The rooms are really small with a shower that is so small,... More

Sounds good. New Chung King Mansion Hostel. What is 'new' at Chung King anyway? Hostels, guest houses at Chung King Mansion or anywhere around Nathan Road have interestingly captivating names but accommodation is something else. Photos and pictures can be misleading so better not expect too much ; seeing the real thing can be very disappointing. Accommodation at New Chung... More

This was booked as a hostel, it is not a hostel. It is individual rooms that are spotlessly clean but tiny and cramped. The beds are slightly bigger than single/twin beds and were for two people. The bathroom is a sink, a toilet and hand held shower hose. This is over the toilet!!! so you can't even stand under it... More

The place is worst than bad...it is truly terrible. It is dirty, spooky, the elevator takes forever, the personnel is beyond rude and unhelpful. The rooms look like over-sized coffins and the matrices are probably the worst on the planet. One night my door would not open and the personnel insisted I am not using the smart cart correctly and... More

very small and cramped, there is only one lift servicing odd numbered floors and one serving even numbered ones. the wait is forever and it is extremely crowded. the lobby of the lift landing is almost always filled with touts trying to sell you things or people just generally standing in your way you dont feel quite so safe. it... We stayed here for the new year's eve, so everything else was full (talking about cheap places..) and we booked here. What can I say? I suggest to find another place to sleep..This building was really bad, we felt unsafe and the room was quite small and not clean; the elevator was full all the time and you have to... More

They moved us from "Ashoka" to "Delta" on another floor, after demanding 100USD as a deposit, but would not give us 2 keys. Promised in room microwave, refrigerator, desk, seating area and bathtub. They never emptied our trash can or replaced toilet paper. No clean towels. No clean anything. They never changed sheets or swept.

A little surprised by some of the comments of other posters. You are staying in the Chung King Mansion..Did you bother to google it before your booked? Yea its a little high stress downstairs with all the people, and the building seems like a fire trap, but for the price I can't complain. The room I was in was pretty... More

If you are travelling to HK, please choose something else, this hostel is crap in every sense you could imagine, rooms, housekeeping, elevators, everything!!...even the entrance is scary. Hong Kong os great but any place at the Chung King Mansion must be avoided.

Chungking Mansion was like a home of the Bombays and Indians. You can see a lot of them in the hallway. And I guess everywhere. I'm not against them, but they were too many to approach you for a business talk (accommodation). The way up to the rooms was kinda messy, and a little too dirty. The smell was so... More
