This is the worst place I have stayed for a very long time. Perhaps its only advantage is the good connection to the airport (with a bus). My partner had booked us a room to sleep here a few hours after the night flight as a part of our stop-over in HK. We did not want to pay much of... More

I stayed here with my partner in march. This place is in no means a hotel, it also isn't a guesthouse, it is simply awful. We arrived and were treated horribly by the woman on reception. We were taken to another building across the street and were left there. It didn't feel safe. I wouldn't have wanted to be a... More

As experienced budget travellers we thought hey, maybe people just think it's supposed to be a hotel but really it's a decent guesthouse, so we weren't too worried before we arrived, only a bit nervous. Well, we can now tell you, this is a hellhole. We have stayed in guesthouses in Thailand, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Bali to name a few... More

I stayed at this place for the first and last time this Saturday (on the night of January the 31st to February 1st). Granted, the price is cheap. But the place is not nice - except the great location near Jordan MTR station. The personnel not only don't understand or speak english, but they keep arguing in cantonese, be it... More

the words "serviced" "hotel" and "apartments" are three words that do not belong in the description of this place. Asides from it having relatively easy access to the MTR - there are no other redeeming features of this place. My "apartment with tea and coffee making facilities" had a kettle, and the room was so small that if i had... More

this is not really a hotel but more towards a guest house. everything you'll find in a typical hotel room doesn't have it here. for example, there is no wardrobe & not even a single table. even more so, there is not many socket plug points so if you wish to recharge your smartphones or tablet, you'll need to remove... To be honest, I am totally with no idea about any guest houses in Hong Kong, because I have never been to hong kong in my life before. Originally, I planned to book a 5 stars Hotel for my trip with my son, daughter and wife. The reason is so simple, because I want high quality accommodation for our trip.... More

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighborhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighborhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamorous or busy as its neighbors Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighborhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighborhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
