This hotel was selected by our tour operator, China Highlights, as a reasonable option for Chongquing, where we were to stay one short night before departing on a Yangtze cruise.  That was last June.  As a result details are a bit foggy, however, photos are clear, hence this post. Our room was adequate, but not inviting, charming, or warm. It... More

After staying in a selection of hotels which all had somewhat shabby carpets it was a pleasure to have a room with stone floors. It was also a pleasant change to have a modern bathroom. The small balcony offered a point of contact with the outside world. There was a large park close by which had winding paths, views over... More

The 88 Park Hotel has the bones of an upscale spa hotel, with dark wood and park surroundings. This hotel has the potential of being truly outstanding, but falls short. It is still a very good hotel but it fails to capitalize on its strengths. It’s major strength is its location. This hotel is located in a lovely wooded section... More

We were booked into this hotel by our tour operator prior to a cruise down the Yangtze. It is situated next to Elim Park which is excellent for walking and has superb views across the Yangtze, especially at night. The park also has a museum and a good restaurant at the top. The rooms are large ,and although not luxury,... More

We were booked in for one night by our package tour company at the end of a Yangtze cruise. They must have negotiated a bargain rate! The room was large and clean, however from our point of view, apart from walking in the park , this hotel is too far from city attractions. There was heavy rain and it was... More

The hotel was very nice and we would stay there again if in this city. The buffet breakfast was included and was better than average. Not sure if breakfast is included for all stays or not. No complaints. Room and bathroom were fine. I would say this was a 4-star hotel. We were in China for a tour that originally... More

We can be away from the noise and the bad air of the Chinese city. The room is large enough. The internet and mobile phone are well worked. But at the breakfast, the flavor of the coffee and the breads are no good. The coffee contains much sugar and the bread is too soft and sweet.

End of April 2012 we had one night's stay at this hotel. Big rooms! Good Breakfast where you can sit outside looking directly into the Ehling park. Birds singing and just plain relaxing. On the top of the hill and away from the city noise. Close to the Metro (even though you don't see at first). Only Minus' are 1)... More

This was probably one of the better 3 star hotels we stayed in , in Chongqing. Rooms were spacious and comfortable with stone floors and a mock fireplace for aesthetics with an LCD TV above it; it also had a little balcony overlooking the Ehling Park. There is a wet market just a few metres down the road from the hotel... This smart 88 room hotel is built on a hill within Ehling Park, where you can watch local people doing Tai- Chi in the morning. Guest rooms are large and pleasant, with stone floors and a glass window between the bedroom and bathroom, and a glass shower cubicle so you can watch your partner showering. However do avoid the rooms... More
