I stay regularly at the JW in Chongqing. Its central location is great although the traffic at rush hour can be frustrating. The staff and service are consistent and the reason I return is that I know I will get a comfortable and easy few nights. More

Dear AJ from Shanghai, Thank you for preferring the JW Marriott for your stay in Chongqing. On your next visit do try our RMB50 (net) set lunch in Marriott Café which is of great value and available 7 days per week. My personal favorites are the Nasi Goreng and Laksa. I am looking forward to welcoming you back on your... More

We always stay here when in town on business. We have tried other hotels on our own dime. So, if I'm not paying, the Marriott is great. On our own we have enjoyed the Hong Ya Hotel. Great river views, located at the best place in town to buy souvenirs. More

I'm just a middle class professional. Anyone who says this hotel isn't amazing must be upper crust, which is fine. If you're a regular person, this is a great hotel. They provide Western style excellent service, with the extra effort of Asian cultures. Location is spectacular to "da Wang" outside the bars such as Soho, and 88 in the evening.... More

The location of JW Marriott Chongqing is unbeatable. It is within walking distance to the center of the city (the revolution monument area) and is surrounded by restaurants where local people dine in. Some restaurants might not meet the hygiene standards of travelers from the west though. We loved the bakery store BreakTalk near the hotel. One night, we walked... More

The JW Marriott is centrally located in Chongqing and right around the corner from a pedestrian mall and shopping area with some good restaurants. Other than that . . . The entrance is cramped and slick in the rain, and it's challenging to get a room with a good view because so many buildings are soaring next to the hotel... More

Dear Mibusyrn from Indianapolis, Thank you for your comment and I am sure you would have loved our Malaysian Food Promotion as well this month. Farouq, our Malaysian Executive Chef, has transformed the buffet in Marriott Café and has been busy impressing guests and Chongqing residents with his culinary delights; especially his butter shrimp and beef rendang are getting rave... The JW Marriott is well located in central Chongqing, but that's its strongest attribute. The hotel is well worn and now looking a little tired versus some of it's newer competition. Rooms are good sized, but furnishings are older and there's not much of a view. Facilities (F&B, gym, etc) are basic. Rates are not cheaper than the alternatives. Unless... More

We spent three nights on a Executive Club Level room and found Hotel Guests using the Lounge facilities just have no disciplines, which put the "Guest Relations Officers" in a difficult position to keep the Lounge a peaceful place for relaxation and conversation. To give a few examples, we saw guests bringing their own plastice containers and filled them with... More
