First of all: do you want a VERY interersting view of living in a chinese hutong and a warmful sociological experience? This is the right place for you (as it was for us). Very different from the amount of the "same old stuff" hotels, this one is a pearl. It's inside a real hutong, and controlled with the strong, gentle... More

I have stayed 3 nights and this small hotel lived to all the expectations. Young and Freeman are very helpful and friendly. They organized a taxi to pick us from the airport and arrange for some train tickets. We were receive with a smile every time and got really good suggestions on things to do and where to eat. If... My son and I stayed here for 4 nights. Freeman was a terrific and warm host. We liked being able to walk to Oriental Plaza (an upscale shopping mall) and the Grand Hyatt for a special and enormous breakfast. The location really is superb. It's in a hutong so it's an authentic Beijing experience too. More

My family stayed in the charming B&B in Bejing last week and highly recommend this small, interesting 'homestay' type hotel. We booked based on Tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed, Young and Freeman are warmly charming, very helpful and were very kind to our two sons. Here, you're walking distance to the train station which can get you close to... More

My family stayed here during vacation in Beijing. We loved the great location of the B&B, near the subway station and city CBD. Also, the public transportation here is very convient, our time is limited, so Freeeman and Young helped us with metro&bus schedules which was more convenient and scenic anyway! The bed was super comfy and the house was... More

My husband and I and three teenage sons stayed here for six nights. it was wonderful. It is a very small hotel (only five or six rooms), with a small courtyard in the middle. The two young men who staff the hotel -- Young and Freeman -- are wonderful young men. Their English is great and they are very warm... More

We are a family of four, two kids 6 and 3 years. We visited The Emporer's Guard in early June. From the start the whole experience was good. The room was easy to book and Young assisted us with all our pre visit requests. From arranging a pick up taxi at 2 a.m. to sorting out the best local breakfast... More

Although the rooms are not superb, the service and the friendly environment made our stay very pleasant. Staff was always attentive to our needs, and made every effort to help us in any way. Will definitely stay again. More

We stayed here only one night, but we wished it had been more. It is close to the main sights and streets, but set in a authentic Hutong (local crisscross of sidestreets). It is a self contained B&B with 5 rooms i think. Whilst the rooms aren't the most polished, they are thoughtfully decorated and sitting in the central courtyard... More

Situated near to the major tourist sites, but in real lived in hutong location it was all I expected and more. Authentic, so whilst the rooms are beautifully furnished and the bathrooms are modern, the origonal features and layout remain. Part of the charm is sitting in the courtyard drinking green tea and having a choice of fruit, yoghurt or... More
