The Hotel Kapok is located at 16 Donghuamen Street, Beijing. It is within easy walking distance of The Forbidden City, Tian An Men Square and the shopping area around Wangfujing Street. It is a member of the China Resources Group which operates four hotels in the PRC. Near the hotel are several restaurants and bars providing an excellent choice if... More

Good value boutique hotel, nice and big, clean and light. If you arrive by metro, once you know the way its easy to find but at first very confusing. Get off at Dengshikou metro line 5, exit into the carpark area turn left and then right into the main road into Jinyou hutong - you will see a fancy hotel... More

Stayed here because of the location which is excellent but the hotel is difficult to find if using the metro. The directions given on the web site are rather confusing and the name of the hotel isn't prominently displayed unless you look skywards! I had booked a "Courtyard" room as I imagined sitting in a pretty courtyard but that is... More

The hotel was at a nice distance from the things you have to see in Beijing. Nice walking distance for us, but that may not others agree on:) The hotell has a very nice design, both the main hall and the room we had. The room was a bit small, but the price was decent. A nice alternative to way... More

Me and my husband came to Hotel Kapok for vacation. The first impression was good. The lobby is clean and refreshing with a bar and restaurant as well as a smoking and sitting area. The front desk people spoke good English and the rooms were nice as well. However, one thing I will bring up is the bathroom. The room... More

I printed and took with me a review of this hotel from Michael spencer. He was very accurate and it was very helpful info. We were quiet happy with room etc. beds in china are all very hard. Hotel staff, especially Leo, were also very helpful and he spoke English well. We ate twice at the little restaurants across the... More

I loved this hotel. Great price and location. Walking distance from the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Sq. Also walking distance from one of the major malls. The staff was really nice and accommodating. The room was clean and I absolutely loved the glass bathroom. Nice if you are staying with a significant other. But since I shared with a friend... More

Stayed here in 2012 and overall we enjoyed it. Quite a big walk to subway esp when you have walked all day long and your last leg to the hotel took 10-15 mins walk. I would stay closer to the subway next time. Staff barely speak English so they couldn't help you that much. Subway is nearby if you tried... More

Stayed 2 nights, one night upgraded, the room was aboslutely gorgeous, one night 'normal', room is great. Quiet, rooms are clean, correctly decorated, the batrooms are really nice. Breakfast correct. Location very nice (ok, one might complain 10-15 min to subway). Staff efficient, speaking english well. Laundry service ok. To be recommended.

The hotel is good, but they only gave us one key and we were 3, and when we asked for sheets, towels and toiletteries for the third person, they took ages. The bed for the third person is literally the sofa. The breakfast buffet has a lot of variety which is good. I dont recommend to book the Great wall... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Kapok in Beijing is a uniquely designed boutique hotel located in the heart of this ancient Chinese city. A modern looking boutique hotel crafted with a touch of Chinese influence, next to the Forbidden City in Beijing. The lantern, a traditional icon in China, is used as a concept of exterior design, which breaks the boundaries between inner space and outdoor environment. An unconventional layout presents a spacious area; the ample use of glass enhances the natural light and the bamboo courtyard in the lobby slows the pac e of urban life. Hotel Kapok consists of 89 guestrooms and 16 suites, appointed with small gardens on the balcony. The interior design focuses on simplicity and pureness: white is all-pervading in the room, wooden floors and glass built bathrooms liberates the traveler's body and soul. The "Staircase Library" certainly increases the joy of reading. Hotel Kapok delivers personalized services while providing conveniences such as restaurants, bars, meeting rooms, business and fitness center.Hotel Kapok is located in the heart of Beijing , on the east side of the Forbidden City, minutes away from the famous shopping district Wangfujing. Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven, Beijing Train Station is also close by. ... more   less
