Stayed here with my students for or tour of China. Great hotel especially if you like history. The rooms are large with refrigerator. Really speed they even have a complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste I in the bath room. No problem with WiFi worked great. Wish it was closer to Does but it's just a 1/2 hour from Tiamenien Square. Breakfast... More

Wasnt a bad hotel, we stayed here for 3 nights on a recent twelve day guided tour through China, we didn't choose the hotel it was part of our tour - I thought the accomodation was good, staff were attentive, friendly and accomodating when we required them and at check in and out! The lady who works at the small... More

Stayed for 4 nights with my colleagues during an official trip to the capital city. The location is quite good in a peaceful environment. A three star deluxe hotel with foreign exchange conversion/ATM, direct dial isd facilities with a convenient store nearby really proved helpful to us in a great way. Room service was excellent. Rooms were very clean and... More

We stayed at the Dong Fang for 4 nights in early September as the starting point for our Sundowners Overland tour. Many of the guests we met were also part of tour groups starting or finishing in Beijing. The hotel is located in a quiet residential street in between 3 major hospitals and within an easy half hour walk to... More

My husband and I stayed here for four nights in December. While we have no major complaints, I think you can do better in Beijing. We booked this hotel through a tour company and were picked up each day for a tour. To do sightseeing on your own, stay elsewhere. Pros: -Decent breakfast with Western options -Hotel staff speaks basic... More

This hotel has an important role in the history of China, but now it is just an old 3 star hotel, that is populated mostly with group travelers, like we were. It is situated in an old neighborhood .The hotel is decent but about the cleening I have some different observations than those described by others. You have to ask... More

This hotel is used extensively by tour groups. It has basic accommodation, however it was clean. The reception staff speak very little English. The hotel is out of town, about a half hour walk to Tian'an Men Square and unless you're good with the public transport, getting around can be a bit tricky. The laundry service is VERY expensive.

Hotel booked through the tour company. As many of the hotels on my trip this once must have been a beautiful hotel but is on the decline. Our room was large and comfortable but somewhat worn. We were only given 1 small bar of soap for both the shower and sink. There was a cable for a PC but no... More

This is a hotel where lots of tours start and end, so a group mentality of guests prevail. Clean and comfortable, it’s a few steps-up from a hostel, but not high-end. Everything works, but some rooms are in better condition than others. Toiletries and blowdryer in bathroom, but could do with a full-length mirror. Plenty of hot water. The first... More

I have recently returned to this comfortable hotel two years after my previous visit. Nothing much has changed; the rooms are clean and comfortable (even though the beds are a little on the hard side), breakfast offers a good selection of western and oriental choices and the staff are friendly and helpful, even though for some their lack of English...
