The hotel is in a good location for CESL. The 886 bus is handy to get to downtown Beiijing, which is not partciularly close. The English of the staff at the hotel is limited to non-existent depending on the time of day, which is unusual for a business hotel, though they are friendly. The lack of English made for difficulty... More

During a recent teaching stint at the Changping campus of the China University of Political Science and Law, I stayed at the Auspicious Business Hotel. The hotel is located on Fuxue Road, just a few short blocks from the CUPL campus as well as the China University of Petroleum campus. The hotel prides itself on being a traditional Chinese hotel,... I was here in Changping for a business attachment and stayed in this hotel for 24 days straight. When I first arrived, I was surprised by the intricate Chinese ancient design of the entire hotel. The reception people were very helpful, though if they could converse slightly better in English, that would be absolutely perfect. Only one staff could understand... More

We are travelling by bicycle and when we got into Changping no Hotel wanted to have a room for us for 1 night except the Auspicious Business Hotel. Even tough it was not in our budget we stayed there for 1 night. The staff was extremly friendly and they let us put our bicycles in their office. After a shower... More

Beautiful hotel with lovely decor, helpful and professional staff, great dining with an expansive menu, and amazing spa. The rooms were small, but comfortable and clean. The spacious lobby is charming and well appointed. Within walking distance of shopping, dining, open air market, and one of the venues for the 2008 Olympic venue. The breakfast was also very nice. The... More

I was here for a week while at nearby (five minute walk) Chinese University of Political Science and Law. The lobby/restaurant are very nice, traditional Chinese decor. The bar area is small, comfortable and I thought reasonable. The really nice part is very large bath/spa area, large indoor pool, and then a second floor large spa with great appointments and... There are NO SMOKING signs as you enter the Spa area but NO STAFF is prepared to enforce it! It's a lovely spa with 5 different different pools and a hot tub! The showers are really beautiful and there is a HUGE soaking pool in the washroom as well as a sauna. It is beautifully appointed, but again, IT STINKS... More

Stayed here during Great Wall of china trek. Comfortable, fairly basic hotel, clean enough but I'd give it 3 stars. Food was as expected, satisfactory. Drinks in the bar were very expensive, and a cup of coffee set you back over £4!

I stayed here as my first night in China on a Charity Trek to the Great Wall. It was a fantastic introduction to China. The hotel was very authentic and had a great atmosphere. Very few of the staff spoke english and it took me a while to book a massage in the spa centre, but after a some hand... More

I stayed at the Auspicious Business Hotel during a business trip to Beijing. The hotel is very good and the rooms are amazing - comfortable and beautiful - but the hotel is way too far from the city center to serve as a base for central Beijing. I stayed there due to having business with a university right next to... More
