Very good location in the Hutongs in Beijing. Close to everything. Very good clean rooms and affordable prices. They are in the process of building a common kitchen. Staff helps you with organising trips, train tickets etc.

I really liked this hostel, it was a breath of fresh air after some other less than satisfactory hostels I'd come across during my China trip. The only thing I will say is to NOT follow the directions they have on hostelworld! I took the airport shuttle bus like they said and the stops were completely different, I was lost... More

Thank you very much for your long comments and interpretations. I really appreciate your sincerity and kindness. Yes the airport shuttle bus is a little compliated, even for us (Chinese people who reside in Beijing), because the stops are quite different than that on the map and are different than normal bus and there is not any English announcement for... The location i s excellent: safe, beautiful and with good transportation options. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The price was fair. They offer very good activities and tours that people from other hostels come here to book. The place is clean and well kept, there's a roof terrace too although no many people seem to use it. 10... This hostel is on a ridiculously popular and busy street in the hutongs, with lots of food options around, and close to the metro. We opted for the "balcony room" since there were no other window rooms left. The balcony though, while private to the room, is basically a glassed-in passage leading to the room, and is too narrow to... More

Thank you for your comments! The balcony was what we designed for guests to have some privacy and quietness. Your advice is very valuable to us. Yes the space is narrow and we will try to do something to optimize the condition. Wish you could have a good time again in our hostel next time when you travel in Beijing!... More

The hostel is located in the Nanluogu alley, which is a happening alley for whole day. It is around ~5 minutes walking distance to Nanluogu subway, and 10-15mins to a bus-stop. So the transportation to go around Beijing totally is not an concern. The hostel provides 24 hours hot water! Totally appreciate this when the weather is cold outside. And,... More

In one of the most buzzing areas of the old Beijing, the hostel is perfectly located close to bars, restaurants, the subway, etc. Rooms are ok in terms of comfort particularly given the price. Staff was briliant

Great hostel! The Wifi worked in the room and was fast. Plenty of hot water. Great location (on nanlouguxiang), the people at the desk spoke a little English, they booked a two Great Wall trips and also a Beijing opera trip for me (btw: Beijing opera is awful, I don't recommend it). Their free breakfast is ok (egg, toast and... More

As time goes on our first hostel in China is looking like the best. It is located in the Nanlougu alleys area, full of quirky shops, bars, cafes, and near two metro stations, making it a good base from which to explore. Lonely Planet even has a recommended walking tour through this area. The beds are wide and comfortable with... More

If you want a central location in Old Beijing, relatively near Tiannamon Square and other sites, then this hostel is for you. However, several things frustrated me. A few of the employees at the reception speak very little English, making anything but the simplest exchanges of information a frustrating experience when they were on duty. Secondly, while the hostel is... More

Thank you very much for your honest and sincere comments. I am sorry for the poor English of our staff. Some staff are new and didn't speak very well. We will get them trained better. But as to the supermarket and convenience store - there are two supermarkets in the neighborhood around 400 or 500 meters away in the northeast... More

I have no bad things to say about this hostel. Great value for money and the tours (Great Wall fun trip, bike tour and gung fu show) are definitely worth booking. The staff are all great and happy to write any directions you need in Chinese to show a taxi driver. They are just genuinely lovely as well. I had... More
