I stayed in a dorm for four nights and absolutely loved the Downtown Hostel. The rooms were clean, and the staff were always friendly and happy to help with top tips. They run some amazing trips to the Great Wall which cover the less visited (but infinitely more beautiful) places on the wall. One of the hostel staff came along... More

Great location, but staff is not service minded. No one greeted us or gave us a smile during the whole stay. In the breakfast room they didn't even look at us. Apart from the staff, the hostel is really good though when it comes to location. The 3-bedroom was quite big, and with only one small hardly working heater under... More

I was looking for a visit to the wall during my business trip and I wanted to go to Mutianyu stretch. I did not want to go with a big tour operation, or going by myself with a taxi. This option turned out to be a great choice. I went on a saturday in January, this is not in the... More

What I really loved about this hostel is its location and the opportunity to meet other travelers. The metro is 5-10 min away (depending how fast you walk and how crowded the street is), Houhai, Qianhai and Beihai lakes are 15 min walk and Jingshan park is about 20 min away. The hutong area around is fascinating, full of shops,... More

Hello, I recently stayed in a 6 and then 4 person dorm for about a week here in December. The Hostel is basic and clean, good to meet travellers and the hostel staff are excellent, very helpful and speak very nice english. I did the great wall tour which I had read great reviews for and it certainly lived up... More

We stayed in a private double room here and it was great - the most comfortable bed we have slept in in China so far! Clearly catering to western travellers, the BDB is nestled in the midst of a happening hutong area, so it's super easy to find whatever you want to eat, drink or buy. It's not too far... More

I stayed for five nights and would stay again. I stayed in a mixed 3-bed room. The room was basic and clean, and the travellers I met in my room were very friendly. The mattress on the bed isn't very thick, but I didn't find it to be a problem and was able to sleep easily. The staff speak English... More

I stayed for 3 nights and I really enjoyed being there. The rooms are clean, comfortable and nice. I haven't bought the Great Wall Tour proposed in the hostel (I did it by myself) but the feedbacks that I heard are really good. Nice and helpful staff members who speaks English.

Wonderful hostel right in the heart of the hutong in Beijing. The dorm rooms were big and comfortable and had an attached bathroom. The hostel itself is a great place to meet other travellers, whether in the common areas or on one of the many great trips they run (their Great Wall hike was amazing). The staff members are friendly... More

I stayed for 5 nights at this hostel and was very pleased with the service. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The Great Wall trip was brilliant, we also stopped off at the Olympic stadium on the way back (although we only had 45 mins so couldn't go in, just walk around so was a little pointless). Breakfast was... More
