Just down the road from Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, the Beijing Hotel enjoys a spectacular location (dead center of Beijing). The Raffles Hotel is literally attached in the next building over, and the Grand Hyatt is in the complex across the street. So for 25-50% less per night, this is a great bet. more

Our room - Forbidden City view at a premium price (1700.00 yuan per night) was shabby with heavily stained carpets. Breakfast was expensive and no items were replenished after 9.30 - breakfast finished at 10.00 a.m. On one occasion it was suggested to us at about 9.55 that we might consider leaving the restaurant as they wanted to prepare for... more

I have never felt so deceived & ripped off by a hotel, and that is saying a lot having spent 7 months in China... We called the hotel reservations hotline directly a week before our arrival and was told by a so-called 'Sales Manager' that our 2 night stay in a standard room would come to RMB$1288. When we arrived... more

We are a family with 2 daughters aged 15 and 18. We found the Beijing Hotel location to be absolutely brilliant, couldn't have chosen a better spot. Right on the corner of the main shopping strip of Wangfujing Mall. Excellent shopping plaza right across the road also with a supermarket, and bakery etc. It had a great food court which... more

You get the feeling in the Beijing Hotel that she was once grand and luxurious, but hasn't been able to quite keep up. Since this was the first hotel I stayed in while in China,, and my first trip to China, the hotel exceeded my preconceived notions of what a hotel in China might be like so I didn't mind.... more

I stayed here for business (I actually switched from the Westin in the Financial district to the Beijing Hotel because it was cheaper). This hotel is connected to the Raffles Hotel, which is really nice as I've stayed there before. I must admit, the room was a bit of a letdown compared to the Westin, the Raffles and pretty much... more

Location and its history are what sets it apart. its 2mnts walk from Tiananamen square and Forbidden city..yet close to shopping district.. hosted so many dignitaries for close to a century..looks grand too The rate was also very good.. since i stayed for just one night i cant comment on much about the service aspects.. but certainly a good property... more

This hotel was old and dirty. My first night there I went to take a shower and the water was a yellowish brown for the first few mins. I'm here in China on a tour so some of my tour group told me it might be rust or something. It made me wonder when the room was last cleaned if... more

Me and wife stayed at Building A of the Beijing Hotel for 5 days from the end of March to the beginning of April. After having read the negative reviews, my expectations were not high. However, during the 5 days stay there, we were quite satisfied with everything and did not run into any trouble at all. The best thing... more
