I had a very comfortable and very big room it was so amazing that i always remember it on the 13th floor with a beautiful view! The location is the best near to centre tien anmen square and forbidden city. The staff was cheerful and friendly. . Also the breakfast very good. I stayed 5 days and was really exciting!... More

It’s definitely the worst five star hotel that we have stayed in. The front desk staff was out rightly rude and discourteous and the same insolent behavior was prevalent in all spheres including the restaurants. Yes, the location is great but in the same location we can get many other options like Grand Hyatt, Raffles and Marriott. So I suggest... More

You would expect the barest minimum for a historic hotel with a fantastic location. But....even their first line of defense is really disappointing. The hotel telephone operator "talks" English but does not understand what she is saying. It is really frustrating just to call the hotel to get connected to a room. And this happened on the 2014 APEC week... More

Great location only about 3/4 mile from Tianenmen square and the Forbidden city. Much to do and much to see around. However, it smells very old and musty. My room had no curtains on one large window. All in all, meh.

We booked the Beijing Hotel on a recommendation from a friend saying it was a good location and close to most things that we needed to do. This would have to be one of the worst 5 star hotels I have ever stayed in. It would be more like a 3 star maximum. The hotel corridors smell appauling, the rooms... More

The hotel is old, it smells bad, the rooms are cold with no way of heating them up. It was dirty, there things under the cabinet in the room. The internet almost does not work! Would never go back there!

As per many TA reviews, this historic hotel can really do with a refurbishing, starting with the carpets. If it's not billed as a supposedly five stars hotel, it may still be passable. What is great about it is the location : lots of food options nearby and near many tourist sights. As complained by many there's no in-room wifi.... More

The Beijing Hotel is located in a prime area in Wangfujing and walking distance from the Forbidden City and Tian'anmen Square. This is a place with a lot of history, one of the first hotels in town open for foreigners. However, these are the only good things about this hotel. To start with, the hotel is owned by the government,... More

Location! Location! Location! Regretfully a very old hotel with outdated rooms, efficient but extremely rude service. Ok breakfast but get lunch or dinner elsewhere. Again, great location, especially as tourist.

For a so-called five star hotel, I was very disappointed in this hotel. The rooms were very dated, no wifi at all in the rooms, and the hallway on the 9th floor was very smelly - it constantly had an strong odor of seaweed and ammonia. The service was so-so, with very few speaking English, and the restaurants were overpriced.... More
