Made this our base for a week while in Beijing. Great location with a short walking distance to Tienanmen Square and The Forbidden City. Go the other direction and you'll find great eating with farmers stalls and restaurants and shopping. The hotel is on the little side and very kitsch. We didn't have any issues with cleanliness or the size... More

After doing my home work I booked this hotel for 2 days thinking I will be out most of the time with my family i.e. wife and two kids 3 yrs and 5 yrs. People who think this hotel is the Best I personally won't agree :-) I paid 220RMB per night There is no elevator(lift) in hotel so you... More

I don't understand the bad reviews for this hotel! I recently stayed here and found it worth my while! No particularly bad odors, basic and clean room, unbeatable location. People, understand that you're in China. Like everywhere in Asia, beds are a bit hard and smoking is allowed almost everywhere. Dust under the bed? What are you in Beijing for?... More

There are several sections as big as your hand missing from the bathroom floor tile. Our room had cobwebs hanging in the corners and dust bunnies under the bed. The mattress felt like a piece of plywood wrapped in a sheet. There is peeling paint everywhere, peeling wallpaper and crumbling drywall. The rooms look NOTHING like those pictured on the... More

We had a 'no window' room on the basement (room 010) and although it had some attractive featurs (round bed, funky bathtub, red tiling) it failed one basic tick box: the bathroom stunk!! Badly!! And it could so with a thorough clean. The location is very good and maybe if you get the rooms with windows, they are more pleasant.

Stayed in this hotel for 6 nights in June.. Personally, my partner and I found the hotel great. The location is fantastic, in between forbidden city, Tienanmen square and the modern shopping centers and eateries. Room was very clean! Basic and not very large but a comfortable place to rest your head at night and great English channels on the... More

I had booked this place before noticing a lot of the bad reviews and was a bit worried. Especially when my taxi driver had no idea where the place was and even called with the number provided which apparently didn't work. Thanks to some of the photos posted, I was able to recognize it and checked in. It's certainly quirky,... More

Though we all paid the same for our rooms we had 3 completely different sized rooms. Rooms stank of smoke, shower had mould, wallpaper was peeling, exposed pipes in the walls. Staff could not speak or understand basic English which made it very difficult & cumbersome to pay. No Internet available while we were there!! Felt very unsafe as a... More

My husband and I stayed there for 4 nights on our trip to Beijing. Worst four nights of our entire trip. Our hotel room was decent siyed, but very dirty. The first day we got there I took a shower and noticed a used toothpick in the shower room. The water from the shower also went throught the wall separating... More

Was a bit worried about this hotel after reading some of the reviews. It's a bit tired and small but it's clean and so close to everything. It's a short walk to Forbidden City, Tianamen Square, Metro stations and a bunch of great food. Really couldn't beat it for the price for it's location. The staff were able to book... More
