Thank you Angela and Julia for the wonderful stay we had in June! Your place was wonderful and the room was beautiful! Our family loved the master suite and the air conditioning worked great! Best of all was your willingness to help us navigate the City of Beijing! You were so accomodating and we greatly appreciated your help with restaurant... More

I arrived at Mao'er Courtyard B&B on April 9th 2014 for a 5 days stay during which I was attending an industrial expo. Angela, the friendly manager of Mao'er Courtyard B&B was graciously waiting for me at the exit of Shichahai subway-station (5 min walk) to accompany me back to the B&B. The hotel, an authentic Beijing courtyard residence is... More

We had a delightful one night stay in this B and B. The area is one of the more renovated and extensive hutong areas, great to explore. The B and B was extremely quiet though, during both day and night (we needed a nap when we arrived). Owners very lovely and helpful (getting directions to restaurant, getting our bags to... More

I stayed in a suite room for two nights. The location was excellent close to the subway which was easy to navigate. We stayed at the end of our holiday and I was tired and homesick but the staff were kind and accommodating to our needs and very helpful. The bed was the hardest out of all the hotels we... More

Stayed here early Feb 2014. This is a Hutong, not your traditional generic hotel. Overall, it was excellent and I would strongly recommend it over a traditional hotel in Beijing. The style of the place is basically an enclosed courtyard with rooms surrounding it. If you are staying in the winter, it will be too cold to enjoy the courtyard.... More

Very well decorated suite room. Very nice and old area to walk around and feel the old Beijing. Nice restaurants and bars around. Kind and helpful staff. The only week point is that it could be suddenly too expensive we were four peaple for more than 800 yuan per night and as we had one guest suddenly the price became... More

We found this lovely B&B on Tripadvisor. My husband and I stayed two times on our first trip to China last year, February 2013. We arrived by taxi from the airport and arrived tired and hungry. We were met by Angela's assistant who showed us to our room. She then walked us through the dark, winding, charming, hutong to a... More

This B&B is on a quiet hutong alleyway off of the popular nanluogoxiang hutong. Its location is fantastic with a short walk to the subway. I felt instantly welcome and at home in this small B&B. I had a beautiful comfortable room and breakfast every morning in a common eating area which allowed the chance to meet other guests. I... More

Angela was a fantastic host in Beijing! She made great breakfast and was extremely helpful in arranging tours, taxis, restaurant reservations, etc. The B&B is also in a great neighborhood with lots of shops, restaurants, and street food. It was a very nice place to walk around in the evenings. I highly recommend this B & B!

We've very little to add to all the praise: we stayed in both the suite and in one of the rooms, and both were great. Traditional furnishings, including a wonderful cup featuring a picture of Mao and Lin Biao, which must be a real rarity. The Maoerh hutong is very centrally-located -- easy walking distance to all the sights of... More
