Three of us stayed five nights in Beijing in the first week of May. We loved the Mao'er Hutong bed and breakfast. It a delightful traditional courtyard house in the best hutong neighbourhood in Beijing. It is very well-priced for the budget conscious.Completely spotless,Iand a quiet refuge from the crazy city.It is north of the forbidden city- walking distance ,... more

This place is an oasis. The rooms are beautiful, as is the house. The host is amazing - we got a different, delicious breakfast each and every day. She was so full of information and so willing to help - we just loved it. The hotel sits in the middle of a wonderful neighborhood with all sorts of amazing life... more

We recently stayed at Mao er Hutong and Angela took care of us like family. First of all, the place is impeccably clean, yet welcoming. The food was the best we had in Beijing, and we went upscale, downscale, sidescale. The location, between the Forbidden City and the Bell and Drum Towers is ideal. Just to be treated so well,... more

We just spent 5 nights, 4 days at Mao’Er Hutong B&B in the large suite. We had booked on bb-china. The wireless internet worked great. The electric sockets took A, C, and I (2-prong American/Japanese laptop cords and camera battery chargers worked fine). Angela picked us up from the ariport for 150 RMB, and called a taxi for us the... more

We just got back from four wonderful days in Beijing. I hurry to share this B&B-pearl with you. During all our travels we have never come across such sincere, friendly and serviceminded staff in the hotels, motels and B&B:s we have stayed in. I am happy to recommend this B&B, which is close to many things you want to see... more

We stayed here for a few days over chinese new year. On the first night my mum fell while we were out walking and broke her arm. Angela was very helpful and accompanied us to hospital. On the eve of chinese new year angela cooked us a meal and we all went into the alleyway to light fireworks. The beds... more

The Mao Er Hutong B&B is an amazing place. Staying here on the first leg of our trip served to set a standard for the entire china trip. In all we stayed 5 nights out of a month's trip and this was one of the highlights. The B&B is so quiet and serene, the breakfasts are amazing, the beds extremely... more

Always willing to offer any assistance and advice on anything you need. My son and I had a wonderful experience at the Beijing Courtyard Hutong B&B. The place is beautiful and spotless, and is located in a historic area where you feel that you are living in Beijing and not isolated in a touristy hotel. Angela and Amy could not do enough for us, and (literally) went out of their way for... more

Although it is a little walk from the subway, but taxi are cheap. The best part is you are only five minutes walk from Houhai lake,a lovely place to stroll at dawn & dusk.... more
