I have stayed at this hotel a number of times in the past few years and stayed there again last week. The place is feeling a bit tired. It is the little things that you notice such as no shampoo in the washroom, staff forgetting turn down service one night and threadbare towels and bathrobes. The location is wonderful and... More

Well, I'm partly basing the title on the Raffles in Paris which is one of the most amazing hotels I've stayed in. The one in Beijing is much more ordinary. It's still very good and it's in a great location, right next to Wangfujing, the main shopping street, and a leisurely stroll from Tiananmen Square. It's also got a subway... More

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and it was quite a delightful one.Though there were hi-cups at check-in as Agoda had not informed the hotel about our pre-paid booking, none the less, it was taken care off by being upgraded to a Suite, which in itself was a huge one. The suite was a fully-loaded and self-sufficient place with... More

From the moment we stepped through the front door to the moment we stepped out three days later we were made to feel very special. We were seated in the luxury lobby and our check-in was taken care of for us and we were escorted to our executive suite. The suite was lovely with a separate living room, large bathroom... More

My recent stay was delightful and made extra special thanks to Raffles Ambassador John Spooner and his staff. We thoroughly enjoyed the elegant historic landmark building, the breakfast and the great recommendations given by the concierge. The landmark suite was magnificent and is highly recommended. I look forward to future visits.

Many international hotels look and feel the same inside. You could be in Beijing or Chicago. If you are looking for old world style, as opposed to the trendy modern hotels, then consider Raffles. Along with excellent service and walking distance to the Forbidden City, this hotel is 5 star. I would also recommend Jeff Ma as a guide. His... More

I stayed at this property again recently and unfortunately did not have a great experience. Check-in was incredibly slow as there was only one person at the desk who kept disappearing every few minutes. The room in the old part of the building was large but very gloomy and the shower cubicle had an unpleasant smell coming from it. The... More

This hotel had everything - wonderful, large, well-decorated room with view over Chang'an Avenue, historic public spaces filled with photos of earlier visitors, including Mao and Zhou En Lai, perfect location near Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, and a gracious and friendly staff. We spent two nights in the hotel and then left for a night to camp on... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Reflecting Oriental refinement and French élan, Raffles Beijing Hotel epitomises refinement and exclusivity. Established in the early 1900s, this luxury Beijing hotel was then proclaimed as “the only deluxe hotel in the Far East”. A century on, guest rooms and suites draw inspiration from the golden age of travel but are technologically enabled with discretion for 21st century living. Personality Suites pay homage to luminaries from the hotel’s fabled history while Raffles Inc Business Rooms cater to business travellers on the move.Indulge in gastronomic delights at this Beijing hotel. Innovative French cuisine takes centrestage at the elegant Jaan Restaurant which recalls the glamour of the 1920s with glittering chandeliers and its original timber dance floor. The vibrant East 33 meanwhile offers international fare and the popular weekend Seafood Extravaganza.Ideally situated at the crossroads of famous Chang An Avenue and the district of Wangfujing, Raffles Beijing Hotel lies in the heart of the prestigious business and commercial districts, a few minutes from historical attractions such as the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven, the Silk Market, and modern marvels such as the ‘Water Cube’ National Swimming Centre and ‘Bird’s Nest’ Olympic Stadium which captured the world’s imagination during the Summer Olympics of 2008. ... more   less
