Raffles have taken over this iconic building from the old Beijing Hotel. The lobby is gorgeous and so is the whole front building of the hotel. There is an atrium and that leads onto a very modern coffee shop which I didn't like in atmosphere - it does not fit to the concept of the hotel at all but saying... More

This was my fifth time in China but my spouse's (and our baby's) first time in Asia. The fast-changing pace of China never ceases to amaze me. I've learned to expect something new(er) every time I visit but this time I was really anxious because I wanted my husband to really enjoy his first Asian excursion. AND, we were bringing... More

It's hard to resist the name Raffles! As part of a Virtuoso Tour of Tibet my last destination was Beijing and the wonderful Raffles Hotel. Every part of the hotel lived up to it's legendary name, the rooms, food and service were all excellent and set in immaculate surrounds. The Beijing Raffles is situated within walking distance of the Forbidden... More

We stayed at Raffles Hotel for about 4 days in Beijing in June 2011. Bella Bai, the concierge was wonderful. All the hotel employees were so nice and kind to my family of 3 children, a grandfather and us. When my sister had a late check-in (10pm) they were extremely helpful. The breakfast buffets were wonderful. The bowling alley was... More

A group of us visited the city of Beijing to celebrate Christmas last December. Two of us have never been to China and were very skeptical about what to expect in terms of culture and accomodation. We decided to be safe and book Raffles Beijing because we were proud of the Raffles brand name as Singaporeans. It was indeed a... More

We booked the Raffles in Beijing to celebrate the New Year's eve and welcome the new year in Beijing. Though we have been in Beijing and Shanghai from the 26th of December, we needed a special place for the New year's. Our whole life we will regret the decision of chosing the Raffles, which we did based on the reputation... More

While this is a beautiful historic hotel in a prime location (which is why we chose it) close to the forbidden city, tianaman square, etc., the service was not up to the normal raffles standards. our bathroom upon check in wasn't clean and continued to not really be clean through out our stay. We wanted to stay another night and... More

Raffles is pretty much what you expect for this chain, including a nice high tea. Unfortunately, smoking is permitted inside, which detracts a bit from the enjoyment, even though they try and isolate it as much as possible. Rooms are nice and spacious with a separate sitting area and food is very good. Not as posh as some of the... More

We picked this hotel because we are familiar with the famous Raffles in Singapore so we could be in a special place in a foreign land and not a typical hotel chain. We were not disappointed. Very hospitable staff from John the hotel ambassador to everyone at the front desk and concierge who were always willing to help make our... More

My wife and I stayed at Raffles for a week between Christmas and New Year. Everything is first class with this hotel. The front desk staff are excellent, courteous and helpful. The room was spotless. The food is pricey, so best to eat outside the hotel. Cabs are hit and miss, but this is outside the control of the hotel.... More
