First off, The Good: -It is cheap -It's got a great location really close to Tienanmen Square, The Forbidden Palace, food, shopping streets, etc. -It has a reasonably priced Great Wall that takes you to an older section of the wall that is beautiful and NOT jam packed with tourists. -Friendly atmosphere The Bad: -Despite the fact that I booked... The location is the best part. Is just 5 minutes walking from Qianmen subway, Tiananmen Square and Forbidden city. Everything you need you can find on the same street of the hostel, restaurants, shops (I bought the cheapest souveniers from China there), pharmacy, Mc donalds... They have a nice bar to make new friends and to drink cheao beer, and... More

I've stayed with them 1 week and I would do it again if Im in Beijing again. The number 1 superlative of theat place is its location. Is just 5min of walk from Qianmen subway st and additional 5 min to Tiananmen sq/forbidden city. Leo hostel is located on the street with all basic facilities such are restaurants, gift shops,... Stayed in a double room for 1 night in August 2014. Turned up and booked a room easily and wasn't too expensive. Positives: - Excellent location, right next to Tianamen Square and easy walking distance to shops and restaurants - clean rooms - great atmosphere, very easy to get chatting to other travellers in the bar! - wifi in bar... This is a handy location to stay near the forbidden city and Tiananmen Square. Rooms and showers clean with plenty of facilities e.g lockers, towel hire etc. however the food service is pitifully slow and the food isn't that great, stay away from the cooked breakfasts they are not worth the money and you never get that many fries with... My friend and I loved staying at Leo. The atmosphere, the location and the people we met there made our stay worthwhile. The bar area is very cosy with an interesting and welcoming design. The bedroom and bathroom were both very clean, although the beds were a bit hard, but i think that's normal in China. The front desk staff... More

I only stayed at Leo Hostel for one night so it was great to be in a good location for our time in Beijing. It is located just south of Tiananmen Square and only a short walk from the Qianmen subway stop. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly when storing luggage. There is also a bar and common area... This hostel is average. The staff on reception were helpful regarding directions and things to do but only one or two spoke English. It's a great location close to Tiananmen Square and restaurants. The beds in the rooms were very hard and not that comfortable. There was no hot water for our entire stay, beware the staff will tell you... More

Leo hostel is located in the centre of beijing and you can reach the tiananmen square and the forbidden city in only 10 minutes by foot. The atmosphere is nice and they have a big bar and offer some additional tours. The rooms were ok, but not that clean. At the bar the service was really unfriendly and it took... More

Pros: good location, drinking atmosphere, drinks specials, had towels, a window and air-conditioning. Cons: expensive, hot water took ages to kick in and even then the temperature was temperamental, food was average. We actually got a 60 RMB discount for saying "Geez, that's expensive" when we found out the cost of a double room. We paid 200 RMB all up... More
