This was the first stop after the long flight, and we were glad that it not only looked beautiful from the outside, it followed through inside as well. The rooms are very spacious and we were able to open and leave out our suitcases with no trouble. The bathroom was large with a tub and a separate shower, and lots... More

My husband and I booked two nights stay at this hotel in October 2012 during our visit to Beijing. The subway was very close (within three blocks of walking) which was incredibly convenient as cabs can be expensive if you're coming from this area to the CBD or any large shopping/touristy areas. The wireless Internet was only available in the... More

I just got back from taking one of those 9 day tours of China which included touring parts of Beijing. Our tour company had us stay at the Oriental Bay International Hotel. Coming off of a 14 hour flight and starting the first full day of our tour the next day at 6 am left my sister and extremely exhausted.... More

Rated as 4-Stars?? For real?? Where have you stayed before? Paid for "deluxe" -put in "tour" room. Moved to executive level - dirty bathroom floor and smoking in "no smoking" room. YUCK! 3rd floor lounge area with small rooms with black leather sofas and sliding doors (all enclosed). Karaoke - maybe for some, but we were quickly escorted out by... More

This was my first hotel in Beijing. Got in pretty early in the AM from LA/USA and they did the best to accommodate me. Took me about 90 minutes to finally get into my room. (They gave me a free diet Coke in the bar. Hmmmm!) Room was clean. Breakfasts were well-above average. They exchanged my USA currency very easily... More

We had a reservation at another hotel prior to arriving in Beijing. The hotel (Holiday Inn) was awful. It smelt like throw up and the floors were filthy. Our tour guide who picked us up at the airport suggested the Oriental Bay due to the location. He made some phone calls and they gave us a room at 11:00 pm... More

This hotel was arranged by our tour.  Our room on the 10th floor offered an excellent view of the city (especially the Bell Tower) and was fairly spacious.  The breakfast buffet offered a lot of variety of Chinese and Western diahes. However, a strong cigarette smoky odour was obvious and persistent in a number of areas in the hotel including... More

We stayed at this hotel for two nights while on a tour. The lobby was impressive and beautiful and the breakfast buffet was of good quality and choice. Thats as far as the good things go. The room was dirty and thats all there is to it. There were dust balls in all the places you couldn't easily clean. The... More

The staff was friendly despite our language barrier. However, our room smelled horrible. Noticing the ash tray in the room, we requested to have a non-smoking room instead. We were told that only the top floor of rooms were non-smoking and none were available. Sorry but the only good thing about this hotel was the politeness of staff. The smell... More
