I dont know how we came across this hotel (rather hutong), but im glad we did as it was one of the best accomodation experiences we have had. The rooms are excellant, but most importantly is the setting, bedrooms of to the side of a central communal indoor courtyard. The interiors are fantastic and you feel as though you are... more

I stayed at Templeside Hutong House when I arrived in Beijing and, 3 days later, as they were booked out for the national holiday, I moved to the deluxe house. I stayed in the dorm in both houses and both were equally clean and comfortable. I had spent 2 months traveling by train from helsinki to Beijing and was heartily... more

The double room I was in was far from luxurious- this is a hostel after all. But that is more than made up for by the friendly hosts who put a cup of tea in my hand whilst I waited to check in and clearly enjoy running the hostel. The location is great, 10 mins to the tube, but a... more

Very peaceful and beautiful! We had one of the double bed rooms and it had a cute little sofa and antique-looking vanity inside the room. My mother and brother had a twin room and theirs was much more simple and had none of the extra furnishings. The courtyard was very peaceful and we enjoyed relaxing there. They bring in food... more

Firstly, I would like to say that this is the first review I have ever written. But against the background of my really nice stay at templeside, some remarks are more than appropriate. I arrived late at night - no problem. I had problems with my aircon the first day - they just gave me a big extra heater. I... more

My stay in Templeside Hostel was the most fantastic experience. I am very glad that I chose Templeside over staying at any other places. Bobby helped me a great deal before my arrival through exchanges of emails. Finding the hutong would have been a challenging experience if I was on my own but one of your friendly staff came out... more

Stayed here twice during August. This is a fabulous hostel near the Xidan shopping district. Situated in the hutongs it is very quiet & relaxing. The very helpful staff provide info on bus services & some great local knowledge. more

Tucked away inside a hutong an 8 minute walk from the subway, Templeside House Hostel 2 offers it all: quiet relaxation on the rooftop deck, help navigating Beijing or booking tours, and meandering alleys just outside the gate. Reading on the rooftop, I felt as if I were in a small town, not a city of millions. I even woke... more

Decent little hostel outside the downtown area. All attractions can be easily visited by taking a bus, or a cab (which are extremely cheap). The showers were great! Plenty of water pressure and heaters in the ceiling to keep you warm. (All drains in China are smelly, get used to it). And the food they make or have delivered for... more
