We stayed at RJ Brown hotel as part of a tour of Beijing & Xi'an. Billed as a 3 star in our itinerary, let's get one thing straight - this is not a 3 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. I'd say a 1 star, possibly 2 at a push (you get free wifi-albeit intermittent connection). I agree... More

Rooms very basic! Bed, tv, glass balcony, little desk and chair. Breakfast is ok. Toast, fruit, yoghurt, cookies, coffee. But mngr, and staff are so helpfull! Great girls! 5 min. Walk from temple of heaven with nice park to walk 15rmb for only the park. Little supermarket next door, mac. & kfc nearby. And free wifi! Busstop across the street... More

I concur with other reviewers when they say that the people at the hotel are the highlight. Everyone tried really hard to make our stay a good one. The room was not very nice, and my daughter didn't want to stay. As I came to visit to see if I could take my students here, I am glad that I... More

We stayed st the brown hotel through china odyssy tours. The main positive are the lovely staff! They were so friendly and willing to go out of their way to make our stay great. They spoke really good English. I feel really guilty giving this hotel a poor rating because the service was outstanding. The cleanliness of this hotel was... More

The hotel is small. Reception staff is very, very friendly. All rooms are not the same. Some has a bahtroom with shower, others with a bath. Breakfast is on the seventh floor, simple but sufficient buffet breakfast. Location near the Temple of Heaven. Good connection with busses to many highlights of this capital of China. Especially visit the park around... More

Based on previous reviews, we were looking forward to staying at this hotel. The good news is that the staff do speak english quite well and are very helpful! However, the hotel has seen better days. Most importantly, we were very disappointed re the cleanliness. The breakfast was the worst we had in our three week stay in China! The... More

A really pleasant hotel, with an endless supply of steaming hot water for showers. The rooms were nice and comfortable and clean too. The only downside to this hotel is that its a little bit out of the way of the main tourist areas, but they are only a short bus ride away.

Very helpful staff. Some tourist attractions within walking distance. E.g. Temple of Heaven and Tianqiao Acrobatic Theater. Also good public bus connections to other parts of the city. Within walking distance (25 min) of Tiananmen Square. Liked it.

The RJ Brown is a good stay for a few night. The rooms are moderate. The beds are pretty hard. Breakfast is oke. The hotel is in the south west of Beijing. Not the best location. But taxi's are cheap. Temple of Heaven is on short distance. Few restaurants in neighberhood. Ter eis a restaurant nextdoor with pizza's and internet.
