Arrived late at night on my first night in China and they had no record of my booking even though I had paid upfront and was told all the rooms were full. Another couple arrived at the same and also had the same issue. I had to push for the staff to help me find an alternative place for me... More

Everything here was good, even the breakfast. Specially for the price we paid. The location was quite good too, located within a walk time from local shops and restaurants. If I ever visit Beijing again, it is very likely I'd stay here again.

I stayed here in November for a week. Around 15-20 minutes walk from the underground station with eateries along the way. A short cab 10 minutes ride to the main railway station. This is a great place if you are happy with a simple room to rest when in Beijing, live near locals and enjoy strolling to see the city.... More

The Jade Hotel may be classified as a "hostel" here, but only part of it is that way. We had a standard room with private bath and large bed. I would call it a hotel. And a good value. The location is excellent if you are on a sightseeing mission as we were. Walking distance to Tiananmen Square and the... More

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for four nights at the end of October. We arrived at 5AM after a gruelling 20 hour trip from London (we missed our crossover at Hong Kong) - so as you can imagine we were knackered. Anyway, the taxi driver pulls up at a back alley and says the hotel is down there.. We... More

At our second day in Beijing we had no place to go and found this lovely hostel/hotel on the internet. It is more a hotel then a hostel. Everyday they clean the room if you ask them. Lovely staff. New toothbrush everyday. Took international credit card. Has two lovely restaurants that serves local and western food. We didn't like the... More

Here in the YH the waitresses are watching loud costume drama television and at the same time have loud rapping music playing. They would never think of turning the music down. A nice clean hostel/hotel. Memories of the day include an over-attentive toilet lady, being attacked by a live fish and someone shouting testicles at me. Just off Wangfujing street... More

I recommend trying somewhere else in Beijing. We wanted to be close to forbidden city and to a couple metros. Since we had never been to Beijing we didn't realize there would be so many streets blocked and routed, making our route to forbidden city a bit more complicated than planned, but at least that worked out. The metros which... More

My teenage sons and I stayed here in May 2010. If it hadn't been for a helpful young girl at the train station who asked us where we were headed and offered to take us, we would have had some difficulty finding this hostel. We arrived after a good 15 minutes of brisk walking as it was already nightfall. i... More

Until I arrived there, I never knew it is a hostel. It's location is central, rooms are non-noisy, staff is functional in English, travel tour desk is helpful, lounge and restaurant are fine. One must know the Chinese name of this place or you will be lost in the Beijing city wilderness even though you may be within the walking... More
