Be aware of the shark porters who tried to get us to book highly priced attractions through them for 2-3 times the price you can buy direct. Also, they appear to get a cut from the Cab drivers outside, we were quoted 800RMB for a return trip to the great wall. Cost us a grand total of 90RMB by bus.... More

My travel agent had pre-booked this Hotel for me before I left NZ. Upon arrival, I was told that they would have to upgrade me to another room as the room I had booked was unavailable. I was happy with that (no extra cost), however, the room I was given was what I had expected initially. Yes, the rooms are... More

First impressions of this place was. 'They over book foreigners and put in chinese people ahead. so we got moved to a hotel around the corner for the first night, which was just as bad because they kicked us out of both of the resturants. When we finally got back to the redwall. the hall ways spelt of smoke. We... More

The Red Wall Hotel is very well located being close to a number of attractions that you could walk to. The glass facade makes it look very modern, but much of the hotel looks dated. The lobby is smaller when compared to a major hotel, but it had a number of facilities, including a multi-phone charger. The staff were friendly... More

I have been to worse hotels in China, but I usually spend about 60 rmb per night for the experience that my friends and I got at the Red Wall Hotel. The location is good. All praise stops here. I have been to 42 cities in China and this has got to be the most expensive hotel in the nation... More

Red Wall hotel is the best. in terms of location and price. The hotel is very near to some tourist attractions like Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Jingshan Park and Wangfujing St., A taxi ride from Wangfujing is around RMB13 only. The breakfast is decent enough. I liked their stir-fried noodles and bacon. Our room (business-room) is spacious for us since... More

This hotel can't be beat as far as location goes. It took us a leisurely 25 minute walk to get to the Southern entrance of the Forbidden City (where the huge picture of chairman Mao is). Or if you want to see awesome views over the Forbidden City then hang a right as you walk out of the hotel and... More

Overall, my trip to Beijing was great. Travelled with a friend to Beijing in March when the weather is about 0C in the morning and a hight of about 8-10C in the day. Good points about the hotel: It's a good price and comes with a decent breakfast. The rooms were clean with decent bathrooms and the staff is friendly... More

We stayed at the Red Wall for 13 nights, so feel quite qualified to comment. Firstly, the best point .. location. Although a good walk from the front of the Forbidden City & Tiannamen Square, you are close to stunning Jingshan and Bei Hai Parks. There are plenty of good coffee shops and snack places and, although a reasonable walk,... More

This was really a poor quality hotel. I've traveled quite a bit, and have been to Beijing several times, so I knew what to expect, and this is far below any other property I have stayed in in China. Hostile desk clerks, painfully hard beds, dirty sheets, terrible wifi, smelly bathrooms leave little room to find something good to write.... More
