Everything the critical reviewers say about Zhaolong is true--it's shabby and dated, and depending on what time of year you stay, the rooms can be either too hot or too cold. Some of the staff are...shall we say?... a bit surly? But we keep going back year after year, because overall, it is basically satisfactory, and it's so convenient to... More

The room was smallish by Chinese standards, but still large enough for two to sleep in. The wifi was better than it is in China, however, the staff did have difficulty understanding basic English. There was an issue with our booking (which they couldn't find), so trying to put forth a point for about an hour was a bit tiresome,... More

I stayed here for two days and the hotel was really nice with nice view from the window of my room. The customer service was good as well, so was the free breakfast. Although I spent most of my time roaming on the streets of Beijing and came to hotel only at night but it was a comfortable place to... More

The hotel is perfectly located near the subway station and good restaurants and malls. The rooms are great, but there is no high standards on customer services and the staff has very limited English language skills. The rooms are OK.

I have been staying at the Zhaolong for a few years now on my regular trips to Beijing. This last visit was the last time. Firstly, on the plus side, the hotel is in a good location, right next to the metro, and walking distance to the Sanlitun Bar street and shopping. Also, it's not entirely badly appointed. But to... The Zhaolong is one of the hallmarks of the Deng Xiaoping era. It was one the first modern hotels in Peking - sorry enough, things have stayed much the way when the hotel was opened. You should insist getting a room above 8th floor, not for the view, but they are the renovated ones (a few years ago, though). They... More

For whom would like to stay closed to the center malls and the foreign night life of Beijing this is the best option with a outstanding breakfest starting at 06:30 AM and a service in different languages.

Myself and my holiday wife stayed here for 4 nights when in Beijing and the hotel was excellent for us. Indeed the bell boys were even willing when to give you a high five when you came in blazing at 6am and the reception staff willing to re-issue lost room cards despite the fact that we couldnt string a sentence... I have been using this Hotel for many years. It has changed a bit and the general reception service has improved of late as they were shocking a few years back. The last trip in April was fine with faster check-in and check-out times. Don't expect a super friendly reception as they are quite indifferent to foreigners but use it... More

We picked up this hotel because of its location. Much of the shopping and eating like The Village and Yashow market are within walking distance, and popular halal restaurants like Rumi, 1001 Nights and Turkish Mum right opposite. But in the frigid December cold walking was a torture. And to get right across the street to the restaurants we had... More
