This is very nice hotel. I would give 5 stars, but nobody spoke great English, and it cost us valuable time trying to book drivers. The restaurants inside the hotel are great. Plenty of choices and the breakfast buffet was great to. I wasn't a fan of the food in Beijing overall, but I could find plenty to eat here.... More

We were a large group that stayed at the Xiyuan Hotel for 2 weeks in December. This is definitely not a hotel for international travellers. More for local businessmen. The hotel is old and dated. I was on the only non-smoking floor which hasn't been updated since the 70's. And despite this being a non smoking floor, people smoked in... More

Suggested more for local businessmen, not tourists from abroad. Its fairly central and close to the Forbidden City. The hotel offers only one non-smoking floor and as someone sensitive to smoke I had difficulty with locals and the hotel not caring about smoking on the non smoking floor as well as Restaurants and lifts. The concierge speaks very little English and... More

stayed here at executive room during my business trip with colleagues from Turkey. The bed was very comfortable; the room was a big size as was the washroom and shower. The staff was very helpful and customer service was good. The Breakfast buffet is completely delightful, with a huge variety of delicious food. Me and my Turkish colleagues enjoyed stay... More

I've stayed at Xiyuan Hotel a couple of times. The Beijing Zoo metro location makes it accessible to anywhere in town, though there is not much (outside the zoo) to walk to. The rooms are spacious and clean, and I've never had an issue with WiFi, the staff, etc. The breakfast's have a reasonable array of Chinese and Western selections,... More

Good service, breakfast is good but not enough seat for everyone. Service was excellent, I called Laundry service and someone was ringing after 2 minutes!! Gym is tiny and old equipment, the pool was closed as it was too early (6:30?) Rooms are spacious and there's a few shops by the lobby. Much better than the Nikko Century. Would be... More

I have stayed here several times, most recently in June 2014. Closer to a 2.5 rating than a 3. Comfortable enough (and clean enough) room, but sometimes it is hard to get the shower to function well. Breakfast selection is quite reasonable but not as extensive as can be expected in many other places. Very little English spoken by the... More

Not brilliant either. Typical government owned hotel. Large lobby with bar. Good service and pleasant room, but much of the hotel is tired and needs a makeover. Handy shop across the road and subway close. Very near zoo but that's not the best place to visit in Beijing.

I stayed in this hotel for two weeks on a business trip in March / April 2014. I give this hotel 3 (really only 2.5). The hotel is acceptable but the lack of staff that speak English and the lack of English channels, 2 News and HBO make it a non-starter for those that don't speak Chinese. There is only... More
