This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences of my life. We were told that this was a "five star" hotel, but later learned that award was something bestowed by a Chinese bureaucracy. There are "seven star" hotels in China. Nevertheless, the hotel likes to boast about its five star rating. The first thing you have to know about... more

I thought this was a very nice hotel. A few blocks from a couple of markets, and various alleys where local Chinese sell food and other items, etc. A friend and I ate at a couple of very cheap, but generally good local restaurants within easy walking distance. Breakfast at the hotel was very nice, with a very large assortment.... more

The staff was helpful and friendly, and had an overall terrific command on the English language, for those travelers who find Mandarin difficult. The room was very clean, high quality, with a really nice view for those who like to observe the city streets and people watch. It also had a nice Chinese flair to the decor. The hotel restaurant... more

I stayed here three nights as part of a tour package. The location is kind of far from tourist area, so be prepared to call taxies if you are a tourist. No obisous convenient public transportation. However, if you are on busiess or attending meetings nearby, it can be quite acceptable. The hotel lobby was nice and staff very friendly.... more

Stayed here for 3 nights for business purposes. I didn't think the place was worth 5 stars. More of a 4 star. The room was rather cheesy, room service was not very tasty, and the toilet had difficulty flushing. On the bright side they cleaned up the room thoroughly, although that's what you would except at any 5 star hotel. more

This hotel was chosen for me by my Chinese host. In 3 or 4 vistis to Beijing, this was my favorite as a business hotel. The room was clean, the service was really good (if the phone operator did not understand, the person they sent to my room did, and got whatever fixed in less than 5 min.). I had... more

Not having been to China before I had nightmares of staying an unsafe dump. Upon checking in to the Jade Palace any fears I had vanished instantly. The room was very well done with wood, carpet, and artwork all coming together to create a first-class atmosphere. The bathroom, while not large, was very well done with an all-glass shower and... more

The Jade Palace Hotel was good quality with a decent sized room and plenty of facilities. Watch out, though, as the pool, gym, etc., are not included in the room price which was a bit of a surprise. We had problems with getting wake-up calls so I have rated the hotel 3 instead of 4 or 5. It was hit... more
