Experience Old China. Enjoy the hutong experience. We stayed here in 2000 and had a very good experience. Back in 2015 and it is still a great little treasure hidden away from the busy main thoroughfares in a quiet hutong. Excellent Asian/Western breakfasts. Very obliging reception staff. Wonderful grand residence of a wealthy Chinese person days gone by. Great base... More

This hotel is in a perfect location. not easy to find, but it's in a very popular hutong street with many shops and cafes. If you're taking a taxi or subway there, the best location that taxis would know and is closest to the hotel is at exit E of Nanlouguxiang metro station. Or, there is a foot massage place... More

Must read booklet provided about the history of the hotel at front desk. Small, really old, but clean and neat. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was great! Made to order and included in room price. Beds were very hard, but clean. Antique furniture in rooms. Tiny bathroom, but again, clean, which is most important when traveling. Do need... More

First time in Beijing and this hotel became an oasis during our 9 days stay. Nicely decorated rooms, beautiful yard/garden, good breakfast and very centrally placed in the Hutong. The service is very good, although a bit difficult with the communication, as they do not speak very good English. The free wifi did not work very well in the rooms.... More

This is a review for a 3 night stay at Lusongyuan Hotel in October 2014. I thought the room is very clean and comfortable. I liked the decor of the room. The location is excellent, very close to subway line #8 and one of the popular walking districts (Nanluoguxiang) with bars, restaurants, shopping, and street snacks. The price is right.... More

This traditional courtyard hotel is in a great location on a quiet hutong near many good restaurants. The room was small but clean and quiet with a comfortable bed. The air conditioning was good and there was an adequate supply of hot water. Unfortunately, the bathroom flooded every time I took a shower as the floor actually sloped down away... More

It's a little dingy, like the other reviews say, but it's clean, the beds are extremely comfortable, the location is great (right in one of the hutongs near lots of restaurants and very close to the metro), and the price is right. All in all a good experience

Lu Song Yuan Hotel is a nice little hotel in the Hutong area placed on a one way small dark street, but people seemed friendly and did not take any notice of strangers in the street. I booked a “Standard Room” at the hotel – is was a small nice room with a double bed (see http://flic.kr/p/oysMJj, http://flic.kr/p/ohbTiX, http://flic.kr/p/ohbfJ6 and... More

The reviews we read were pretty accurate. By western standards the hotel is very reasonably priced. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The location is unique and close to bars, restaurants, and the subway. Please don't stay here if walking down alleys is not for you or if you require a large hotel room. The hotel is definitely showing signs of... More

Wow! First of all, the hotel will be hard to find and taxis are not allowed to drive in the alley ways (way too narrow for them- residents only) so you will have to walk to the hotel but you will only have to walk for a couple of minutes. It is very close to a police stations so I... More
