This is a very big hotel, composed by numerous buldings, some connected by corridors. It is an old hotel, I think built somewhere around the 50's. Some f the buldings have gone trought some construction works an have been upgraded. The food is quite good, breakfast, lunch and dinner (oriental style buffet, with western options for breakfast). Its a good... More

I stayed here with a school program for two weeks in June. This was my first time in China. I did not know what to expect because I don't have much to compare it to in terms of China hotels. This was a unique hotel in a large complex. It was safe and the complex was nice. The hotel made... More

The Hotel in General This is a large hotel complex comprising several individual buildings. Told it used to be the Russian Embassy which would explain the grand imposing layout and décor. Each building in the complex has its own lobby but currency exchange, bar, swimming pool etc are in other buildings. The Room My room in building 4 was very... More

I was attending a conference at Peking U and organizers put me in a room here. I was in one of the back buildings probably the building where they stuck secretaries and junior staff when this was the spot for big conferences in old communist times. Other reviewers have complained about size of place. I had no problem with that.... More

During my recent visit to Beijing I made a mistake moving from the Peninsula hotel to the Beijing Friendship Hotel for its close proximity to Peking University where I attended a reunion. I thought it would be easier to get back to my hotel room after late night parties at the university. That was a big mistake. The Friendship Hotel... More

It's a huge compound hotel buildings. Make sure to be aware the location of each hotel according to your convenience or else you will end up finding your way out or your way in. The whole area is so refreshing due to its vast trees and landscape. Truly, a picturesque of Ancient China Infrastructure.

I spent 3 nights here during a business visit. As others have pointed out, this is not a single hotel building but a complex of multiple buildings, not all connected. The inconveniences included small room in an old building, empty minibar, hard mattresses, 400 m walk to breakfast in another building,(expensive, separately charged and not including cappuccino or omelet), often... I stayed in this hotel end July 2013. This is a complex with several buildings, interconnected by long corridors. The main building has been renovated and has been granted 5 stars. The other parts have not but still keep 4 stars, Chinese standards. I stayed in the 4 stars' part. Rooms are big enough and clean. Bathrooms look, however, a... More

It is a nice hotel with all the usual amenities that you can ask for. Service staff are polite and speak reasonable english. Checking in at of the hotel was a breeze and the front desk took the effort to explain the charges and the hotel facilities, which I found quite pleasant. The conceige was also helpful in arranging for... More

Its a decent hotel with clean rooms and facilities for its price (although I got a group discount price). The cleaning staff is good, but bathrooms might have leaking pipes or flushes that work at their will. The cleaning staff is also very honest and sincere, we had a guy who forgot his watch in his room as he shifted... More
