Being the second time in Beijing, and the third in China, this hotel was a good base from which to explore the bits of Beijing we had not seen. Walk or bus/taxi to Silk Road "market" or Tinanmen Square/Forbidden City. The "market" is more like a multi-level department store, with little stores. Beijing railway station is across the road, which... More

Room: Comfortable and quiet with clean and adequate bathroom. Large comfortable beds. Facilities: Buffet breakfast had a large range of both Chinese and western choices that should suit all tastes. Of particular note where the steamed buns. Lobby area is impressive looking but staff had little to no English. A few shops on are all very expensive and high end... More

We were booked at Beijing International hotel a supposed 5 star hotel. The 1st night was fine but we noted that the hotel had stained carpet throughout and smelled of cigarette smoke. The 2nd night we had an issue, water pouring into our room from above. The water gushed from above down into our room from between the door jam... More

We stayed here because it was one of the hotels Friendly Planet uses for their "Sale of Two Cities" travel deal. They advertise this hotel as "1st class" and "5 stars". That's a joke!! The entry fountain and the lobby were about the only semi-appealing things about this hotel. During our 5 day stay, we were moved to 3 different... More

I arrived from a long flight early in the morning to check in, the ladies at the hotel reception desk were extremely moody and did not smile. They asked for an exorbitant deposit fee (despite I had already fully paid for the room - I cam to learn that deposits were common in China amongst Hotels). They asked for 1000... More

Centrally located. Near a shopping area. Near railway station and not far from Tiananmen . Externally it looks luxury. The lobby and breakfast hall are modern and nice. However the room was very simple with outdated used furnitute. The shower is old. No iron in the room. There is WiFi in the room. There is a string in bathroom to... More

The biggest problem with the Beijing international is a total lack of English. So if you don't mind that then it's good. The bathrooms are roomy and cleverly laid out with a good shower. The breakfast is at best average and be warned if you get up from your table someone will take it, even if you leave things on... More

I don't usually comment on the decor of hotels but this hits you straight away. It's a big hotel and is straight out of the late 80s/early 90s, i.e stacks of marble, shiny fittings and low lighting. Location is excellent, very central, also across the road there's a very good supermarket and shopping centre (don't cross the road, use the... More

The Hotel was very comfortable and within walking distance to a coffee shop (which can be difficult to find) and the main city area. Staff were friendly and the rooms were well equipped and spacious. Overall a good hotel to stay at.

The location of the hotel is great. It is in the principal street. Walking distance from the mall and close to tianmen. The room was good. Allthou it was not as clean as expected. Breakfast was great! The only thing: just one person spoke english!!! So communication was an issue at the restaurant, café, housekeeping, etc.
