I'm sure this is an excellent hotel under normal circumstances. The quality of service and attention to detail was excellent ... once I made my way to the room, however at the moment it's under construction. There is no lobby, just a side entrance to the shopping Arcade. Upon arrival with my luggage in tow, no one directed me to... More

The Peninsula, about 40 minutes and 20 miles from the airport, is located adjacent to the Wangfujing shopping district and within comfortable walking distance to the Forbidden City. Staff were pleasant, helpful and most spoke English. Our room, a deluxe suite was clean, spacious and well appointed. The Huang Ting restaurant was excellent with good menu selections. Afternoon tea in... More

Got picked up in one of the hotel's Rolls Royces and whisked away to the hotel! A great experience. Reception staff were efficient with good English and the room was a little compact but modern and very comfortable. Breakfast choices were plentiful and the food was good. Nice central location, not far from shopping and sightseeing spots. Perhaps not as... More

Not up to the standards of a Peninsula. They have just started the sample room work as part major renovation program which will last until 2017, very annoying if you are there during the day. When you walk in this property does not fell like a hotel. The lobby is a like an old fashioned high-end shopping centre with a... More

The hotel send us a renovation notice one day before we arrive. The big surprise was that some reforms of the hotel that they mentioned were a big lie. They are doing an almost comprehensive reform of the entire hotel. The garage is the entry, the lobby is closed so they move it to an small room on the fourth... More

Just checked into the Peninsula Beijing and they ran out of room with king size bed. So, instead of offering, I had to think of a solution and asked them to combine the 2 twin beds for me. When I called front desk, the phone just keep ringing. So I tried calling the concierge and no one picks up the... More

Having never been to Beijing, I wanted a hotel that was centrally located. The Beijing Peninsula was the smart choice. Being a Peninsula hotel, they are always a cut above the rest. The security inside and out are prevalent and make the guests feel safe. The concierge, lobby and restaurant employees really cater to your needs and are always friendly... More

Good location, walking distance to Tiananmen Square, Forbidden city and shopping. Hugh lobby with lots of high end shops but missing that Peninsula vibe! Check in was quick and efficient staff all speak English and are very polite. Rooms need an overhaul, as do the bathrooms, they are old and it shows. What really upset me was the robes in the... One of the best location in town! I used the place more than 10 years ago, the service is still caring! Sure the place was not as busy as all new modern places in town where I had dinner... But... A Peninsula remains a Peninsula!! The main restaurant was not opened so I had to use the Chinese restaurant ...... More

The hotel was fine, but it was the morning breakfast and the pool that were to die for. I cannot adequately express what a pleasure it was to sit down for our breakfast each day in the beautiful hotel restaurant. It was so tranquil. The service was lovely, the food delicious, the te and coffee served in silver personal pots,... More
