This was our first stop on a month long vacation. The concierge floor was fabulous. We had breakfast there and tea in the afternoon. The spa was relaxing and a necessity for the jet lag. From walking in the front door and being escorted up to the concierge level to check in to checking out, the staff was lovely, the... More

Thought service would be second to none here based on price, however it was more like none! Started with tiny things like nowhere to sit in reception/lobby area, which I thought was very odd. Anyway, the main problem I found was the absolute lack of respect paid to you by the staff. I have stayed in many bargain budget little... More

Despite that it was the first 5 star hotel (by western standard) in Beijing 25 years ago, it retains its charm and quality like other vintage Peninsula Hotels in other cities. Room had been improved over years and were very comfortable and cozy. The indoor swimming pool was lovely and the fitness center was first class. Food quality was good.... More

The staff and service at the Beijing Peninsula is fantastic. The staff is helpful and all appear to speak English which is helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are very nice, the lobby is a bit dated. The restaurant and breakfast service are also outstanding. The location is very convenient to the forbidden city and other attractions.

The Peninsula is falling into the second tier of Beijing luxury hotels. The concept of a lobby encircled by luxury brand stores is passé and the lobby meeting places and sitting areas are far from stylish. The Beijing Sofitel, for example, is far more unique and classy. Your undistinguished breakfast will be served in a lower lobby restaurant, again encircled... More

I couldn't find anything to fault here. The staff were unfailingly friendly & helpful, the room comfortable. Perhaps it was a shame that I could hear the TV from the adjoining room one night, but that wasn't too intrusive. If I could change one thing it would be to have the staff who seat you at breakfast ask whether you... More

I had not stayed at a Peninsula before and didn't know the history behind their hotel chain. We had 2 rooms, 1 for us and 1 for our teen kids. From the moment we were dropped off by taxi, the hotel staff were very pleasant. The rooms were wonderful. Clean, Quite, didn't need for anything. We had dinner at Jing... More

I'm currently staying at peninsula Beijing, yesterday I've extent my reservation through ctrip by 1 more night. this morning while double checking my booking at front desk, miss grace told me "sorry, your reservation has been denied, because you're not Chinese but you can stay at a higher rate!" i thought it was a misunderstanding but than she told me to call ctrip... We stayed five days at the Beijing Peninsula hotel and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had been staying in 3-star hotels in Shanghai for nine days before moving to Beijing, and were hungry for a western-friendly establishment. The Peninsula far exceeded our expectations. All the staff spoke English, the front desk, restaurant and concierge personnel were flawless. It was clear that... More

I have nothing but praise for this hotel. It is situated in the centre of Beijing only a walking distance to The Forbidden City. The staff all seem to speak a little English and are attentive to the guests at all time. Breakfast was great with a mixture of western and Chinese. Public spaces are luxurious. The rooms have all the... More
