We were fortunate to stay in the stunning Grand Hotel during a recent trip to Beijing. The Hotel is located only a few hundred metres away from Tianamen Square and the Forbidden City. A few metres the other way and you are in one of the main shopping districts of Beijing with its trendy outlets and great restaurants. The staff... More

Grand Hotel Beijing This hotel is all about location! Walking distance to the Forbidden City, Tiannamen and the Museum. The Hotel itself is nice but maybe not so 'Grand' anymore. If you are in Beijing as a tourist rather than for business it is great as it has a little more of a 'Chinese' feel to the place with its... More

Excellent hotel for Forbidden City. We had a deluxe room with view of FC, but most days the pollution is too bad to get a clear view. It is next door to the convention center, which can be reached without going outside, The convention center is well worth touring for the artifacts and building itself. There is a back door... More

The hotel had a wonderful selection of breakfast ... usually the price isn't included in the cost of the hotel. Within walking distance to all of the sites and front desk staff were helpful. We were given room which had great views of the Forbidden City. The only problem was the water from the shower made the bathroom floors very... More

The location is fantastic. The Forbidden city is a ten minuet walk from the hotel and maybe five from wangfujing road which has plenty of very interesting foods and shops that serve beijing specialty candies. The rooms feel cozy and are well decorated and the hotel staff are polite and have a fairly firm grasp of the English language. Would... More

This hotel is very near the Forbidden City and Tienanmen Square. The breakfast buffet huge is fantastic. The rooms were clean and nice but the bed was very hard. I love the authentic Chinese look to the building. Service was very good.

That was one of the best hotel stayings in my life! The hotel is just great: it is located in the very city centre of Beijing: a 5-10 minute walk to Wangfujing Street on one hand and Tian'anmen Square and Forbidden City on the other hand. The hotel's personnel is very friendly and they also have their own exhange office... More

Stayed here a couple of nights, 3/14 & 3/15. Got upgraded to the next level of rooms, facing The Forbidden City! Quite an amazing view from the room. The hotel is right around the corner of Wanfujing Street, and the Wanfujing metro station (lines 1 & 5). It's also within a 5 minute walk to The Forbidden City and Tiananmen... More

The room was huge, but the carpet was filthy. Beds were OK and the bathroom was clean. It felt as tho this hotel needed a good rennovation as there were peculiar aspects to the room - ie. an alcove with what was probably once a small bar. The lighting system in the room was a mystery to us, be we... More

This historically 'Grand Old Lady' (physically adjoined to Raffles, Beijing and so in a great location for walking access to T'Man Square and The Forbidden City), is badly needing to invest funds into upgrading it's accommodation and guest facilities. Having stayed in 2 different rooms (both with 'Forbidden City Views' - the traffic noise (all night) was dreadful) for 6... More
