This is a nice place - it has lots of character. But meals there are expensive and the internet service frustratingly poor. My room had a wonderful view on the Forbidden City but was not soundproof, so the honking and other traffic sounds were a bit of a nuisance.

-Great hotel overall with very nice rooms and a great view from the upper floors; it;'s billed as a five star and would be if it wasn't for the lousy WIFI connections and a very uncomfortable lobby with only a few chairs and a great empty space you can stand to connect to the web. Breakfast buffet is very nice... More

The hotel is located just a few minutes walk away from TianAnMen Square, Forbidden City, WangFuJing, and the Centre for Performing Arts. It is also just in between of 2 metro stations, TianAnMen East and WangFuJing, each about 4 mins walk. The property itself may be a little dated, but it's clean and everything works well. I arrived at the... More

The hotel, located at a walk distance from the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square, breathes the classic elegance of the past with spectacular decoration, combined with high technology details, like a small console close to the bed which controls the room lights and Air conditioner. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful with pretty... More

Superb location. We could see the Forbidden City from our room. This would be my go-to hotel in Beijing. It is close to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and just about everything else you could imagine.

Stayed in this hotel with a room overlooking the Forbidden City and the Tianemen Square. The nearest subway station is about 200 meters away, and about 500 meters away is the main shopping district of Wangfujing Street. Highly recommended!

Sometimes it's nice to indulge. Lovely room, breakfast buffet, lounge with view of Forbidden City, so close you could jump. As in other hotels in China, though- difficulty keeping carpets clean - they are vacuumed, but with dirt mark buildup.

Looks can be deceiving. I stayed here about 5 years ago and thought everything was very nice. Clean and spacious room with a view . This time, the room is small and a little musty. Air does not work Ran a bath and it took a good hour to fill the tub as the water pressure was low. The bathroom... More

The Grand Hotel Beijing is in a brilliant location. Right next to both Tiananmen Square and Wangfujing street, where you can find shops, restaurants and markets. Also very close to numerous subway stations, which is surprisingly easy to use even for those who speak limited mandarin. We stayed in a Forbidden City view room, which was sensational, the bathroom generous... More

The Grand Hotel Beijing is in an absolute perfect location and is a great value. The staff is incredibly nice and the rooms and bathroom are huge. This is a traditional hotel that is quite unique but it is in some need of maintenance. We loved this hotel but if you are looking for something modern and sleek, this is... More
