Stayed here for two nights in early August. Reception is efficient but not especially welcoming. Cant really complain but no praise either. My room felt tired and could have done with an update in decor. Still I had a view over the roofs of the forbidden city which was great. Very close to the sights in the centre of Beijing.... More

Although the bedrooms are somewhat worn and dated, the public spaces are great. Rooms are large clean and beds very comfortable. . The wifi issues have been fixed since last visit. Buffet meals are very good and better then at other five star hotels. Location is the best. Able to stroll to T square, Forbidden city , shopping or the... More

As same as hotel's name, it's grand hotel with grand location. And because of the location, the hotel got security check when you get in to the hotel which I don't think necessary. The sound insulation was bad, quilt got smell. Last but not least, staff were helpful, and very polite.

Got a discounted rate online after being attracted by pictures, so opted for 2 nights here after staying in nice hostel previous nights. Whilst it's not perfect, Grand Hotel is certainly...... GRAND! The 3/F & 5/F have incredible decor areas to marvel at. Lifts are lovely too. Upon check-in I was informed my room has been 'upsized', which is interesting... More

The hotel is very well located, and has a friendly team that is really willing to help. There's a nice ballroom with a lobby for afternoon coffee and a nice swimming pool, and a very rich breakfast. Things we didn't like: The rooms can use a renovation. They are old and a bit smelly. The prices of the coffee and... More

We had a pleasant stay for 2 nights. The wooden furniture in the room gave a traditional Chinese atmosphere. The toilet is proper and clean. They provided 4 bath towels everyday. The facilities and amenities showed its glories in the past. This hotel has a long history in Beijing. Regarding the age of the building, we already knew what to... More

This hotel is in a great location, right next to Tian'anmen Square/Forbidden City and Wangfujing. Although it is a bit old, it still has beautiful facilities. When we checked in, the front desk upgraded us to a Forbidden City View and gave us a welcome fruit platter. Overall the service was excellent and the room had a beautiful view!

We booked this hotel to be able to explore the sights surrounding Tienanmen Square (about 1 km away) over a weekend. The hotel is very nice and clean and the service is efficient. Even though we booked a room, the hotel offered a complimentary upgrade to a suite. The reception staff was very helpful and they helped us book a... More

The hotel is in a good location. We stayed here on two occasions the first time we had a room overlooking the forbidden city for two nights. The second time we had a twin room. Both rooms were good. The beds were comfortable with nice linen. Unfortunately the internet isn't brilliant, however that appears to be normal for China in our... More
