We were given a free upgrade to a room with a view of the Forbidden City. The furnishings are of excellent quality and there are superb artworks in the public areas. Sadly the room was not very clean. The carpet needed to be shampooed and obviously hadn't even been vaccumed properly for rather a long time. The windows were dirty.... More

This hotel is OK - good location, friendly staff but for example breakfast runs you 30 USD per person which is outrageous, coffee in the lobby will run you 9 USD... the list goes on and on. Do yourself a favor read up on Tea house scams before traveling to this area, I was really surprised the hotel staff didn't... More

Best location for central Beijing - close to Forbidden City, Tiananmen, Hutongs. Good in-room amenities; and the City facing rooms are nice. However food in the restaurants is very expensive, even by Beijing standards.

On my first trip the Beijing, I was traveling with a rather large group. The hotel was beautiful upon driving up to it, and it is in a fantastic location. Just a few minutes walk to the Forbidden City and Tienanmen Square. Also, if you have a chance to go see the Beijing Symphony, I highly recommend it!! It is... More

Stayed there in Oct. The hotel is right in the middle of city center, about 5 mins walk to the Tian-an-meng Square and the national museum, or about 10-15 mins walk to the Wang-fu-jing shopping area. The room is facing the forbidden city, but given the foggy weather when we were there, nothing really showed up. The decoration is traditional... More

When I stayed here 4 years ago, I was very impressed w/ the room quality. This time, both my parents' room and mine were in disrepair and dirty. It's still a good hotel boasting friendly service, big rooms and a central location, but it's presently not up to western 5-star standards.

The Grand Hotel is just a few minutes walk from great sites and restaurants. The front desk was very helpful with recommendations. The rooms were very well maintained and comfortable. The bathrooms felt palatial with a very large tub and shower. The 4-star prices at this "5-star" hotel made it a fantastic value, I would definitely return.

The hotel is very well positioned, just five minutes away by foot from the Forbidden city and from Wangfujing and its shopping malls. The room is very big and comfortable. Bathroom is also big. Personnel is very kind but has only a basic understanding of the English language. The concierge speaks good English instead. Would totally recommend it!

We were fortunate to stay in the stunning Grand Hotel during a recent trip to Beijing. The Hotel is located only a few hundred metres away from Tianamen Square and the Forbidden City. A few metres the other way and you are in one of the main shopping districts of Beijing with its trendy outlets and great restaurants. The staff... More

Grand Hotel Beijing This hotel is all about location! Walking distance to the Forbidden City, Tiannamen and the Museum. The Hotel itself is nice but maybe not so 'Grand' anymore. If you are in Beijing as a tourist rather than for business it is great as it has a little more of a 'Chinese' feel to the place with its... More
