Old as its name, not quite a Sheraton! Smoking was prohibited, but the folks there smoked and let their door open for someone else to smell it. The carpet in the corridor was old and spotted. The breakfast was lousy, the menu was same everyday. The restaurant itself looked boring and tired. The swimming pool was out there for no... More

Dear Syahoo, Thank you for taking your time to leave your comment on tripadvisor. You are absolutely right when you mention that The Great Wall Sheraton Hotel Beijing is not in a very good shape right now. For the past years the hotel is in need of refurbishment which so far has not taken place and for which I cannot... More

I recently overnighted at the Great Wall Sheraton hotel as I had business in Beijing. The food for breafast was disappointing, and due to the lack of time I took the option if dinner. This is the only time I have been forced to stop eating and leave the restaurant due to unacceptable food quality. Old, cold and tasteless is... More

Ok for the rate but carpet was stained and pool needed fixing, my son didnt like to swim at all. The big dried up pond by the restaurant ??? not sure what it was before but it looked awful for a view while dining. Lobby was nice, staff was helpfull. We purchased the Great Wall Mutianyu tour in the lobby... More

We traveled to China to visit our son who teaches in Nanjing. He joined us for the first leg in Shanghai and for the second in Beijing. When we made reservations for Beijing we saw that our chosen hotel would not accommodate a third adult in the same room (using Starwood points for our rooms). We had also double checked... More

Don't stay here please unless every hotel within Beijing is fully booked and you have no choice. Why so bad? Easy to explain - check in is a nightmare with no English speaking staff - concierge don't help with bags - terrible food in the lounge - hotel rooms are so old - the hotel pool should be closed down... When we arrived at the hotel, no concierge staff offered us help with the luggage even when they saw us. The check in queue is always very long and there is no differentiating the SPG platinum member or normal guests, although there is a signage but even the staffs don't really care. Concierge staff got very bad attitude when we... More

My first stay at the ChangCheng was in October 2002, during a "familiarisation" visit to China. Over the following three years, when I lived in elsewhere in the country, I probably stayed here on a further half dozen occasions. It was dated even then, but the office was a cakewalk, of four minutes' duration! I recall the atmosphere at breakfast... More

This is a rather dated hotel. The rooms are ok but decor is a bit tired. Overall, it is probably due for an extensive renovation as most things seem to date from 10-20 years ago. The staff do try their best though, given what they have. It is ok for a short stay but there are better hotels in Beijing... More

The facilities are fine, although they are a little bit old. The location is very convenient for the airport and for the Great Wall Tour, but very far from the center of the city (Tian En Men square, Forbidden City, Pearl Market, etc.) They are about 30 minutes away by cab and it will cost you at least sixty RMB....
