Stayed in the New Otani on a recent business trip to Beijing. The hotel is conveniently located near the Beijing tube (Jianguomen station) so can be easily reached from the airport by public transport. It is somewhat non-descript from the outside and the whole area is very commercial. Inside however it is very modern and plush. Staff were very attentive... More

The room had everything including an electronic toilet which was an interesting experience. We booked a superior family room for we two and our daughter. It was however just a double room with an extra bed which greatly restricted the space in the room. The room was very quiet with views of the city. The shower was excellent and spacious.... More

Hotel that has everything and is in a great location. From the rooms, the service, the amenities, to the restaurant and the complementary breakfast, we could not have asked for more. The staff were super helpful, drew us maps of stores and restaurants in the area, as well the name of medication we needed in Chinese as well as the... More

I can't quite put my finger on it but I didn't quite gel with this hotel. Very nice spacious rooms with everything you need, huge bathroom (I was on floor 25 an Executive floor) and obviously a great view. However, poor air conditioning on the first night, dreadful wi-fi and very average food made this disappointing given the price paid.... More

We stayed here for 2 or 3 nights at the beginning of the tour. it is a Japanese owned/themed hotel. The bathrooms are amazing! Food was pretty good, especially the breakfast buffet. Dinner Was average. Little English spoken. Shops near by. Clean and comfortable rooms with decent views. At breakfast most days there was a Tai Chi performance outside the... More

ok, most of the time I stay at 5 star hotels in China because my wife has a Corporate account. Still, there's a budget of 800rmb/night. That eliminates most 5 star hotels. But the New Otani allowed it and even gave us an upgrade in room to allow use of the Executive lounge. That alone is nice as they serve... More

I had some ups and downs with this hotel. We first booked a three-person room, as we thought there were going to be three twin beds in a more spacious room. However, when we got there, the three beds were crammed into a "family style" room, which was nothing but just a regular, tiny, 32 m room. On the next... More

This is my 2nd time at this hotel. I love the way the rooms furnished and equipped with all items. Location is bit tricky - although it is in downtown and close to main areas of the city - it is difficult to get here, especially during peak traffic hours. So plan your time well. This time I was really... More

Nice hotel just a short distance from embassy row. Pleasant staff that spoke English well. The rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast buffett was excellent. We were able to walk to restaurants easily. The Forbidden City was close by. If walking around I would have someone that knows Mandarin. I would stay here again

Hotel is part of our Goway tour package and the first on our itinerary. Very clean, good central location. You could walk to Tiananmen Square...although bit of a hike but might be faster than traffic moves sometimes! Breakfast buffet is outstanding with good mix of western and Asian dishes. Used the same dining room one evening--also buffet but was less... More
