Nice clean rooms, outstanding breakfast buffet. Good location. The only complaint I have is that NONE of the staff speak any English. For a 5 star international hotel this is just not good enough. Big misunderstanding with my bill on checkout. Overall a nice place to stay lots of antiques and marble and wood carvings. 5 star accommodation at European... More

I thought this hotel was excellent in many ways but it is a little bit shabby, not your up-to-the-minute,slick corporate hotel and some might count that against it. But really, who needs that? The staff were courteous, many were able to converse in English, were prompt and efficient. There are all descriptions that don't some readily to mind when discussing... More

As part of a tour I stayed at this hotel. It had an excellent breakfast. The rooms were large and clean although smelled of smoke when the aircon was on. The aircon didn't actually work so we had it turned off which helped with the smoke problem. The staff were friendly and helpful although didn't speak very good English so... More

Our booking here was at a bargain standard rate - for which we got three identical and comfortable suites. The views extended to the Western Hills, the old Legation Quarter and a corner or two of the forbidden city. As mentioned by previous reviewers, come armed with patience and a Chinese phrase book - few of the staff speak passable... More

Start with the many good points - this place is grand - would cost $500 a night in the US but is only 500RMB in China. Lobby huge and elegant. Restaurants good and have some sort of western food. Location 10 min walk from Tienanmen. Room layout not cookie cutter rectangle, lots of wood in chinese styles, pocket doors, free... More

This is the 5th Chinese hotel I've stayed in in 3 cities, and the only one where the front desk staff's lack of English profiency was an issue. First, I had 2 consecutive reservations -- 2 days paid for with points and 1 day via Hotels.com. The front desk trainee who initially tried to help me didn't speak English well... More

We were a group of 2 adults and 3 kids. Check in and checkout was smooth (apart from the multiple checks of our identities). Rooms and the amenities were very very nice, pleasantly surprised us. Food at the restaurant (within the hotel) was fabulous. But it was very tough to find a waiter to understand our request for food. Eventually... More

This hotel is centrally located, a plus since Beijing is so large. The food was quite good, the buffet breakfast fabulous. We also appreciated having both tea cups and coffee cups to make our late afternoons a bit more special. Finally, we found the staff very friendly and helpful.

This hotel is very good because it has an excellent location from where you can walk to Tienanmin square, the shopping/nightmarket area and various subwaystations. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The staff is experienced and efficient. Yes: prices in the hotelbar are expensive but food in the various restaurants is cheaper and in general of a very nice... More
