This is one of the older hotels owned by the State. It definitely has seen it's better days. The furnishing and the bathroom were outdated and not completely functional. It takes 20 - 25 minutes (not exaggerating) to get the hot water up to the 16th floor. Two of the nights, the circuit breakers were going off like christmas lights,... More

I spent 4 nights and then 2 nights, booked thru Orbitz (Sept)and was upgraded to deluxe in my first 4 nights of stay without extra pay. The room is gorgeous , large, nice & clean and has a nice view. The staff helped me directions of which buses and subways to take which I enjoyed rather than taking taxi .... More

Very close to Tiananmen Square. From the outside and the public areas the hotel looks 5 star but the rooms are run down, in our room the carpets were stained and dirty, an architrave was hanging off the door and the door veneer was all peeling. The hotel may have been 5 star when it was new but the rooms... More

This was a very classy and clean hotel. It is located in the center but needs like 10 mins walking to the train station.. What if you have bags? Other than that everything was perfect. The room clean, the service good, the internet amazing, the staff very friendly. It was difficult to get there at first, but once you get... More

I can't say it is a bad hotel, but it is time to renew it. Almost every thing is old. People are not very nice, they are used to receive big groups of tourists. Breakfast is not good, bad coffee, bad orange juice, ... It is cheap, and well located, 10 minutes walking for Tien anmen. Don't expect more than... More

This hotel was a really nice place to stay. I stayed in a room with two other people for four nights, the bed was massive and so comfortable, I had no trouble falling asleep. We got an extra bed which was just as comfortable. The room was very spacious, we had a bedroom and then a sitting room area where... More

The hotel occupies a prime location in Beijing, about 10 minutes walk away from Tiananmen. As an Expedia VIP member, I was automatically upgraded to a suite on the 11 floor. The room and furniture looked a bit worn-out, although the view was great. Front desk service is a bit problematic. They did do the job, but without enthusiasm. The... More

After staying at this hotel I'd recommend forking out a bit more if you want better service - if you are able. After trawling the reviews on trip advisor, we booked the Capital, it appearing to have the fewest negative reviews for the price. It seems a shame that in Beijing you have to fork out big bucks if you... More
