The Capital Hotel, located just east of the south end of Tiananmen Square, is one of the old-style hotels. One of its selling points for many years, for example, was a bowling lane, but it's gone now. This was my first time there. Exhausted from the flight from Hong Kong and the subway/bus route I chose to get there, I... More

I have been staying here in early August 2014 - the location is splendid, I must say. Really really close to all major sights such as The Temple of Heaven, Tianmen Square and the Forbidden City. Also Shopping Centres of Wang Fu Jing are closely around. Room's view from the upper floors are really great, room standard is okay. However,... More

Stayed here for 9 nights in August 2014, on a room only basis. The hotel is a 5 star hotel, and deservedly so. It has Two towers each with about 11 floors. If you decide to stay here ask for a room on the A Tower with a City view anywhere above the 9th Floor and you get views right... More

All who have stayed at this hotel know it's in a good location within a walking distance to Tiananmen, Qianmen, and Wangfujing, but few might know that it's also close to a long, narrow, roadside garden. It took three minutes for me to find it after turning right outside its gate and to begin my morning jogging. Little traffic here... More

This is an amazing hotel located just a short walk from some of Beijing’s main attractions such as Tian’anmen Square, The Forbidden City, Wanfujing and the Ming Wall Park. It takes about 6 minutes to walk to Tian’anmen Square and about 10 minutes to The Forbidden City – turn right out of the hotel’s main entrance and keep walking straight... More

This hotel is in comfortable walking distance of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. The rooms are modern, well furnished and comfortable. Most have good views overlooking the city. Wi-Fi is free in the rooms and the TV has a CNN channel. There is a wonderfully large lobby downstairs which is a great place to relax, to meet or to... More

have stayed here 3 times in last 4 years. cant fault it in anyway. very central to all attractions plus only a short walk left or right from hotel to a subway station. breakfast is expensive but buffet styled with plenty of choice, both asian and european. tower A has slightly bigger rooms and the higher you go obviously the... After staying in bad hotels in Beijing, this was a lovely surprise. 1- There are two towers, A and B...Tower A is newly renovated and, to stay in Tower A, you have to pay about $16 USD additional. I stayed in Tower A and rooms are larger than in Tower B, more modern and very clean. 2- Lobby staff speaks... More

We were here for a conference and were told it was a 5 star hotel. Not so, really four at best. Food expensive and mediocre. The location is good, tho, just a few blocks from Tiananmen Sq/Forbidden City. English difficult at front desk and on phone. Room was comfortable.

We stayed here for just one night on route to Hong Kong. This is a lovely looking hotel & the staff, particularly the reception staff were very efficient & friendly. We didn't have much time to sample the hotel's facilities but, as others have remarked, it's a great location for the main tourist spots. For the price I think it... More
