It is with some sadness that I find myself writing a VERY negative report on The Capital Hotel. We have stayed there many times previously, and until now HAD considered it our first choice for Beijing visits and stopovers. But on this occasion I found the reception staff rude, unhelpful, arrogant and the duty manager extremely officious! We were allocated... More

The Capital Hotel in Beijing is not an international chain Hotel. And that is the nice thing about it. It is big and very clean. It is located very very near the forbidden city (walking distance). Rooms are clean and have all the things you need in a room. An early check in was no problem at all and that... More

I didn't like this hotel. I am an avid traveller and have stayed in all sorts, but this just felt weird to me. The hotel was incredibly dated and just had sort of a 'big brother' feel to it. There are signs in the bathroom saying not to drink the water unless you boil it. Around 6PM, a member of... More

stayed here 3 nights. good location for walking to several places like 7minute walk to Tiananmen Square, 10 minute walk to Forbidden City, walking distance to several malls and pedestrian street with a nearby street and food market just off Wafujing Dajie. there is a convenience store across the street as well as one due east of the hotel. also... Impressive lobby and public areas. Not a 5 star hotel as represented by tour company. Our group had much trouble with the A/C. All rooms were hot over our 3 day stay. the location is nice. A 10 minute walk to what has to be the nicest mall and center of the Chinese universe.

The Capital hotel is a great place to stay, close to some of the most important sightseeing spots such as Temple of Heaven, Forbidden City etc. The staff is friendly and speaks some english. The AC is not the best and the internet system is horribly slow.

Stayed for one night in April. Hotel was huge & impressive. Room was lovely. Only problem was the shower. The rose kept pointing out to the bathroom floor area. Room either flooded or you had to hold the rose while showering which is a pain when washing your hair! But may have been my room only? Friendly staff whom spoke... More

Stayed here for 5 days middle of April. Had rooms on non-smoking floor - this is very important if the smell is an issue for you. Rooms were spacious and clean. Free toiletries and water re-stocked daily. Staff polite and helpful. Good selection of in-house food places. Close to major tourist attractions - even Wang Fu Jing shopping area is... More

We are a family of four stayed there for 3 days .Easy checking, comfortable and clean. Walking distance to Forbidden city , Tiananmen Square and National railways museum . Breakfast is normal and not WOW. There is a small shop in tow minutes walking from the hotel for buying water or some snacks. Wifi was free in the room. Yes,we will... More
