Every time I visit Beijing, I stay here. The place a a certain charm and ambiance that gives a true feeling of ancient China, along with the conveniences of modern day. Obviously this property have had or still is going under a few names, I booked it under the name of Qianmen Courtyard Hotel. Keyword here is budget I sense, especially as the locations is super but also a little complicated to find. My tip, dated oct-2013, is to aim for the H&M signs on the opposite side of the Qianmen... (Usually called Qianmen Courtyard Hotel). This was the first hotel I have ever left early. We were going to stay here for 4 nights, but we left after the first. I stayed at this hotel because I wanted to feel more of Chinese culture and although this hotel is over 100 years old, it is simply beautiful. The woodwork has been preserved and the amenities, although slim, are nice and quaint. The rooms are small and typical to most real Chinese hotels. The staff was quick to resolve any issues... More
