I had a great experience at this hotel. The hotel is not too difficult to find if you have Google maps on your phone, and is about 10 minutes walk from the nearest subway station. The hotel is in the heart of the hutong district, which is comprised of small and poorly buildings, narrow alleys. It's not the most luxurious... More

Above all, thank you so much for your comment. Our hotel is distinguished as folk music themed quardrangle hotel and hope you had a great time here. And we feel so sorry for all the inconvinence we caused. To save engry and to be environment friendly, we originally would shut up the heat system at night and found out much... More

We stayed there for 4 nights and looking back I think it was our best experience of the"real China"!! In a small street in the Hutong, where the real people live, with lots of little restaurants, with great food! The rooms were very comfortable with good linen and plenty of hot water. The staff very friendly and helpful. Had a... More

Thank you for your sincere and considerate comments, which greatly inspire me and all the stuff in Old Beijing Square Hotel. Our hotel is themed as folk music and courtyard. Date back to its reconstruction time, the boss sticked to ratain the original appearance and constructime and thus some inconvinence, such as the noise you mentioned would be inavoidablly caused.... I loved this place!! The hotel is very quaint and traditional, with excellent staff who went above and beyond the call of duty. The hotel is located in one of Beijing's many hutongs in an area known as 'Old Beijing'. The hutongs are fascinating to walk down as they gave a wonderful insight into the everyday life of many Chinese... More

Thank you so much for all your considerate comments. Our hotel is distinguished as folk music themed courtyard and at the very begining of reconstruction, we sticked to the idea that the original historica appearance should be retained and we spared so many efforts to make this palace to be traditional and homelike. We are located at Baochao Hutong, one... More

I've stayed in many places in Beijing, some great and some lousy. Old Beijing Square falls somewhere in the middle. The rooms are nice, but very small. The location is good, but not great. The hutang it is located on is a highlight. Good food and interesting neighborhoods.

Thank you so much for your comments We feel so sorry for all the inconvinence caused during your stay here. At the very begining of its reconstruction, we sticked to rataining itys original appearance, which therefore presents historical structures of courtyard but at same time might bring about other problems, such as noise. We were a bit apprehensive driving to this hotel as the roads got narrower and the area increasingly more colourful, but what a wonderful surprise when we walked in. The hotel is a lovely old courtyard house conversion with plenty of character. The rooms are grouped around a pretty glassed in courtyard where breakfast is served and which serves as... More

We stayed for two nights in mid-October. The hotel staff are really friendly and very helpful with local information. The staff all speak very good English also which assisted planning greatly. The hotel is located right in the middle of the Hutongs on a great little street which was buzzing with activity. The area is such a good place to... More

We had a great time at the Old Beijing Square Hotel. The room was compact but had a private bathroom and everything we needed. Staff were really helpful. Breakfast was simple but filling. The best part of the hotel is the location. It's located in a great (not too touristy) hutong, close to lots of city attractions and to the... More

My husband and two children - aged 6 & 8 - stayed 9 nights in the two bedroom suite. We had a fantastic time! Staying in a courtyard hotel is a real cultural treat - within the courtyard itself is a range of traditional musical instruments that you can try. The staff were very friendly despite having limited English. A... More

Staying in a traditional Chinese courtyard is quite an experience. Location is good. In a neighborhood of Hutongs where you can see the daily life of the locals. Not too far away is the Houhai district, plenty of bars, restaurants, etc there. Unfortunately during the 2-night stay there was no hot water supply. The staff told us to go to... More

We stayed at the Old Beijing Square Hotel for three nights during our five-night Beijing trip. Location: The hotel is located at a fairly convenient location near Houhai and the Drum Tower. The walk to the nearest subway station (GuLou Station) was approximately 15-20 min, which was very nice since we got to see the traditional Hutong style living conditions.... More
