There are both pro's and cons to the Happy Dragon Hostel: Pro's: - location is good! 3 minutes to the subway station, the Temple of Heaven and there are shops and restaurants only minutes away. - the staff are very friendly and always willing to help! - they offer great tours around Beijing. The tour to the Great Wall was... More

Its not far from the sub way and close to the Forbidden city, Lama Temple & Temple of Heaven. Their breakfast is not bad, they give you a map of the sub way (which i would recommend you use), way more cheaper than booking their tours. I paid like 150 RMB incl tranport to Great wall than the 280 RMB.... More

The place had good atmosphere in the downstairs bar/restaurant. Beer was cheap and good:) Walking distance from forbidden city and easy to access metro. Basic rooms, but ok rooms. Staff in the hostel was really helpful.

Stayed for 5 or 6 nights. Walk to great shops, daily morning market on the door step, train 150 m, great breakfast ( western) and about 1.5 km walk to Forbidden City. Staff and front desk (24 hr) were really helpful with local restaurant tips and guide advice and made our stay cheap, fun and safe. Strongly recommend.

If you want to experience how it is like in Beijing on an ordinary day, the trick is to stay in a hostel in a hutong district. HAPPY DRAGON HOSTEL in Beijing is a classic example. Beijing Happy Dragon Hostel is located at a Hutong area with a busy morning market everyday where you can buy cheap fruits and see... More

Great place to stay if you're on a budget, and worth the money. Beds are comfortable and rooms are of decent size. The staff members are all very warm and love to help / give directions. I have stayed at this hotel 3 times. Haven't regretted it yet!

This hostel is decent if you're travelling with a budget. The rooms are outdated and freezing cold when you check in (stayed in November). You need to turn the heater on for 30 minutes (when it works) before the room becomes warm. The location is alright, you are about 5-7 minutes walk from the metro. Next to the metro, you... More

Staff spokes good english and quite helpful. As for the hostel restaurant, i really love their spring roll, it's really tasty !!

Lowdown again on the good and bad on this joint. The good: Staff are generally friendly and helpful. I guess it does help when you speak the language. They even offered to help us make a restaurant reservation and that was great! Location wise, its indeed not the most easy to find but use the descriptive maps that they give you... More

The room was quite small but comfortable, the TV wasn't great. The location isn't too bad as you're very close to a metro station and also within walking distance of the walking street and night market area (maybe 30 mins). The restaurant food is pretty good. The breakfast is ok, but a little overpriced, however the coffees are decent. They... More
