We have been there in triple room- very small. Bath room also very small and almost clean. The stuff was friendly, expect one girl on reception. Its not far from subway station. Also walking distance (20 minutes) from Forbidden city. Prices ok.

I stayed here on my trip around China, I arrived at 2am in the morning lucky I had organised transport here as it is a bit hard to find on the first visit. When I woke in the morning and looked out the window I was met with roof after roof of the houses below. The room was a good... More

We spent there 3 days in triple bed room. There was so little space to walk that only one person could go between beds e.x. to toilet other people should stay on bed. Very little air in the room (about 6-7m2 for 3 people in 30C weather, when AC is turn off after you got out). Shower is so near... More

I think this hostel is good solution for turists who don't want to pay for expensive hotel. Staff is very friendly except one girl. Staff is speaking english and know to recommend some nice places in Beijing.

Hostel had an OK location about 5-10 min walk from the Dongsi subway station which is a stop for both lines 5 and 6. Area is rather dark and deserted at night but was still safe like in most of Beijing. I stayed in the hostel dorm which was OK. Hotel wifi was the most inconvenient feature of my stay... More

There are both pro's and cons to the Happy Dragon Hostel: Pro's: - location is good! 3 minutes to the subway station, the Temple of Heaven and there are shops and restaurants only minutes away. - the staff are very friendly and always willing to help! - they offer great tours around Beijing. The tour to the Great Wall was... More

Its not far from the sub way and close to the Forbidden city, Lama Temple & Temple of Heaven. Their breakfast is not bad, they give you a map of the sub way (which i would recommend you use), way more cheaper than booking their tours. I paid like 150 RMB incl tranport to Great wall than the 280 RMB.... More

The place had good atmosphere in the downstairs bar/restaurant. Beer was cheap and good:) Walking distance from forbidden city and easy to access metro. Basic rooms, but ok rooms. Staff in the hostel was really helpful.

Stayed for 5 or 6 nights. Walk to great shops, daily morning market on the door step, train 150 m, great breakfast ( western) and about 1.5 km walk to Forbidden City. Staff and front desk (24 hr) were really helpful with local restaurant tips and guide advice and made our stay cheap, fun and safe. Strongly recommend.

If you want to experience how it is like in Beijing on an ordinary day, the trick is to stay in a hostel in a hutong district. HAPPY DRAGON HOSTEL in Beijing is a classic example. Beijing Happy Dragon Hostel is located at a Hutong area with a busy morning market everyday where you can buy cheap fruits and see... More
