Generally a good hostel. Things were clean and staff speaks english very well, which is often quite nice in China. Dongsi station is close and excellent. The negatives: Wifi doesn't reach all the rooms very well, so if you're wanting to research stuff you may have to go into the common area. Also, there's a morning market near the hostel... More

Upon arrival I was quite pleased with the place; the room seemed nice, the people too, a great rooftop terrace. After staying a few nights I noticed the downsides to this place: the walls between the rooms are extremely thin. Could hear the guy next-door play video games 'til 3.00. Could not talk to my friend late at night because... More

We just spent six nights here and, for the price, this was a great place to stay. We had a private room with private bath, double bed, and were very comfortable here. Very clean but not fancy. The sit-down toilet was appreciated after a day of squatting, lol. The staff was very friendly and helpful, with good English-speaking skills, and... More

For mixed dorm, they had en suite bathroom, but sometimes the water level is very slow. What i like is,the lower bunk bed they had curtains!. They had lockers, small table and makeup table. The bed and duvet is clean and the room is cleaned everyday. The girl staff (could not remember her name, thanks to her very friendly!) she... More

We recently stayed at this hostel as we were passing through Beijing, and found it a very pleasant and friendly stay. We arrived late overnight, and reception was manned and helpful in liaising with our taxi driver who initially had difficulty finding it. Checking-in process was very friendly and smooth, and quickly shown up to our room. Facilities were clean... More

Initially i thought oh my god were have we booked this looks so dingy, but once we got in the door we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who showed us to our room which we were happy with (only one thing the heating wasn't very good and it was snowing outside). The hostel has a great... More

Happy Dragon is hidden in a hutong but easy to find being just 5 minutes from Dongsi Subway station. It's cosy, friendly and warm and the staff seem happy. There's an excellent café attached as well with an extensive menu. I'm regretting leaving for Harbin.

Staying at Happy Dragon Hostel is one of the best decisions I made during my China trip. It is centrally located and is just a short walk from Dongsi station. The morning market near the hostel is an interesting experience in itself. (Try the street food noodles and pancakes at one of the many stalls.) The warmth, friendliness and helpfulness... More
