A proper local area hotel in the heart of Beijing. Easily reached by airport taxi and metro station is only 300m. Bars , shops and restaurants all with in a very short walk. Very none tourist area. We were treated fantastically by all the local business owners and staff who all made for a worthwhile holiday. Not much English spoken... More

This hotel was difficult to find and on the average side but those were the only real downers. It was clean and basic, which is what we were looking for. It is close to the denshikou station which is just around the corner. Down the road you have a huge touristy shopping area with the famous night market that sells... More

This was our fist hotel in china. Price per night was £50, had wifi in the room. Room was ok, not bad size for China, not very well decorated or should I say was in need of redecoration. Hot water was fine, service was not really great as nobody was speaking a word of English. The whole hotel just looked... More

Upon arriving in Beijing after a 10 hour flight, we arrived at the hostel only to find they had no record of our reservation. Luckily they had a room for the 3 nights I had pre-booked! We also had to pay a deposit of 200 RMB which I thought was a little steep seeing as we had prepaid. In addition,... More

Disappointing place. Our room smelled badly of cigarette smoke. Staff unhelpful. After one night we walked down the same little street, Shijia Hutong, to Saga Hostel - much cleaner, friendlier and cheaper.

Getting there: Number 5 train line to Denshikou Station. Exit C, turn right, walk 2 streets (about 100 mts). That is the street of Super 8, Shijai Hutong. Street sign is behind other signs so don’t miss it. Hotel is on the right (around 120 mts) down the road. NB: Ensure you can carry your bags if using trains. Walking... More

Location is quite difficult to get to. Nearest subway is like 10 minutes away. Everything here is filthy and disgusting. They do not, i reiterate DO NOT change the comforters and I bet they do not wash the beddings. Good think I had to sleep in my jacket and jogging pants because of the weather. I had to slide my... Stayed here for 7 nights end of July 2011. Paid $48 per night via Kayak, who really screwed up the reservation (not the hotel's fault I think). First, location is very good, but NOT exactly where most maps place it. (As a general rule, always double and triple check locations in China.) It is located about 200m from the Deng... More

We arrived at the New Dragon Hostel after visiting the Saga Youth Hostel (on the same street), where they wanted 200 RMB for a single room with shared bath and 300 RMB for ensuite. At the New Dragon, we saw a nice clean room for 180 RMB, and were sold. The hostel clearly used to be a 3-4 star hotel,... More
