We read the reviews on Trip Advisor and were at first kind of skeptical and were going to opt for a western hotel instead. First thing, throw out the travel books on China and forget what you read and watch on the China documentaries. There was a lot of inaccurate information. This is one of hte cleanest cities I have... We are still staying at the hotel (12.18-21) and could not be happier with our experience! I'm never one who likes tacky exotic ethnic decorations that some hotels do trying to reproduce and sell their respective exotic locality. I was a bit concerned that Han's Royal Garden would be the same when booking this hotel. But this hotel located in... More

Hotel is like staying at the Forbidden Palace. On a hutong off a pedestrian shopping street near the Lakes and subway. Two Italian women concierges excellent. Breakfast was weird, I agree with other reviewers. We ate there anyway because we like to relax and read paper in the morning.

We stayed there in mid September, and as this was our first trip to China and we were going on our own, we put a lot of thought where we were going to stay. We chose this hotel, because of the overall features that it had to offer. It seemed a bit expensive, but still cheaper than a lot of... More

This is a fantastic hotel in the Hutong area of Beijing. It is close to most of the major sites but is far enough away from the hustle and bustle to be very peaceful at night. The staff on reception were very helpful and gave me some advice on my visit to the Great Wall and also arranged for driver.... More

This wonderfully characterful hotel is brilliantly placed just 100m off the busiest hutong in the city but far enlighten away to be peaceful. The terrific traditional buildings around quiet courtyards with tinkling water and golden carp are tremendous. What a pity, then, that the rooms - our two anyway - have been allowed to get into such a dismal state... More

First of all, I need to say, that every email we sent them, they responded promptly and were very helpful. When we arrived I thought it looked just like the pictures, was very happy with our king size bed, It was very comfortable. We were able to walk to the "Forbidden City" and the parks, but took a rickshaw back,... More

We stayed at Han's Royal Garden for four nights, and the hotel grounds are beautiful. There's a rockery, koi pond, and covered walkways around the courtyards. Our room was comfortable with a sitting room and spacious marble bathroom. One of the hotel staff, Martina, made our stay very comfortable and helped with any questions we had. The staff in general... More

One of my most favourite hotels so far. It has a brilliant decor, atmosphere and the rooms are generously furnished. The location is great as it is 5 minutes walk away to Nanaluoguxiang Train station, the hutongs for food/drinks/shopping, the main roads where you can get local food and produce. It's on a quiet street but no worries at all... More

Stayed here 1 night before starting a business trip as a base to soak up Beijing atmosphere. Could not have been a better pick. My son in law and I arrived on a morning flight and were taken by the guide straight to the hotel at around 1030. Driver struggled to a) find it and b) get to it down... More
