Enjoyed our stay. Room wasn't ready upon arrival but didn't take long. Bed was comfy; staff was helpful; breakfast was good. Centrally located, great shopping only a few steps away. Clean and safe. Great wifi.

Don't let first impressions be a lasting impression! Our driver couldn't make it down the lane way so we dragged our luggage a few minutes. We arrived 5 hrs later than planned and our room still wasn't available. We were off to a rocky start but that soon changed. After a nap, shower and a meal everything seemed to turn... More

This is a great location for a hotel, close to the a number of areas of interest but not at all noisy. It's a great opportunity to stay in a traditional hutong, and the furniture in the rooms is stunning: genuine antiques and a privilege to enjoy. My room was spacious and airy, with a seriously comfortable canopy bed, and... More

Escape the heat and noise of the busy Hutong and walk through a long courtyard covered with vines and red lanterns. A couple of more turns, each taking you deeper into the coolness of stones, and away from the noise. Nicely decorated, friendly staff, good breakfast with mixture of Chineese and western foods. Room was quite clean and nicely put... More

Four nights and three different rooms. It was MY choice to move rooms as I wanted a room with window that opened to the outside. On the plus side: great location within hutong. This neighbourhood is a popular tourist destination, filled with little shops, bars, restaurants, walk to subway, ATM, some attractions. Some taxi drivers are willing to navigate the... More

All in all, the Traditional View Hotel was a good value for money. THe location is within a Hutong, so it was not possible to reach the hotel by car. Upon arriving from the airport we had at hand the telephone number of the hotel, so asked the taxi driver to call the hotel and someonw came to meet us... More

This is a very traditional one-story hotel that is close to everything. The best part is that it is surrounded by traditional Beijing alleys that are full of all sorts of fun and interesting experiences. I did not try the fried scorpion - served on a stick - but saw lots of people eating and enjoying them. This is not... More

In all my travels this was the worst bed I have slept in. It felt like a blanket over a wood bench. The location is central and within walking distance to shops and food. Staff speaks very little english

I stayed here with a group for a few days. I stayed in a room with a traditional futon bed style - which was surprisingly comfortable! The bathroom was lovely. Two bottles of water were supplied in the room each day. Staff spoke limited English, but were very friendly. When we accidentally locked the bathroom door from the outside and... More

This hotel worked really well for our family of four. We spent seven nights here. It was in a good central location and we were given a two-level courtyard room that was very spacious. Renovation work is underway and I'm not sure Chinese work hours match Western sleep hours - but - once I mentioned this to reception staff they... More
