I stayed in this hotel for 5 days in April as part of a Gate 1 tour of China. This full service hotel is built on the site of Zen temple. The hotel staff was accommodating, the complimentary breakfast contained Chinese and some traditional Western offerings and the rooms were clean and spacious. They offer free wifi.

Over all very nice, quiet little place. The lobby is well lit, well decorated, and filled with a very polite and helpful staff. Buffet style breakfasts are in the lobby each morning but end at 10:00. The food is surprisingly good at the breakfast. Wouldn't waste time with room service meal unless you're just getting a pot of tea. Rooms... More

Charming rooms, excellent staff. Getting a taxi back to the hotel was tricky. Drivers don't always know where it is - you have to get them to call the hotel to get directions! Other than that, a great, quiet & safe place to stay in Beijing.

I don't particularly remember the staff not speaking English, we did manage to communicate. The hotel is a former Buddhist temple and looks like the set of any Kung Fu movie you have seen. Pretty rooms. Great buffet breakfast. Several cheap ($8) restaurants right across the street and a spa. Got massages and those cups put on my back. Had... More

comfortable rooms, in quiet residential street, lots of restaurants around, good food at restaurant, but no one spoke any English at hotel desk so it was difficult to communicate there - good on the streets was all chinese and no English translation - overall, nice place

First, the rooms were very nice and clean and we enjoyed the free wireless internet. The buffet breakfast was typical but good. The property seems to be away from anything much to do but taxis are cheap. There is a fabulous spa across the street. We went every day and tried 3 of their services.....yah gotta try cupping while getting... More

We stayed for a week in this lovely hotel. The only complaint was that there were smokers on our floor and the corridor stank of tobacco. We had stayed in an international hotel during our previous visit to China. This experience was far more exotic.

This is what we would term a "boutique" hotel in the West with only a limited number of rooms laid out in a richly decorated building attached to the Xizhao temple next door. Rooms were relatively small but adequately furnished with everything required including a refrigerator with complimentary water and soft drinks, small but fully equipped bathroom, free wifi in... We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel as part of a tour of China. The rooms were really nice, clean and quiet and in a good location close to local shops and restaurants. The breakfast buffet was good and the staff were helpful - overall a pretty good hotel.

The hotel itself is attached to a temple and location-wise, it's very close to all the tourist attractions (Tian An Men Sqaure and the Forbidden Palace). However, it is quite far from all the other places (Great Wall of China, Xidan shopping district etc.) The rooms are very big and spacious. We got an early bird deal so the price... More
