Next to Wanfujing Street and 10 minutes walk to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. The location is the number one reason to stay here. Another reason is that it's more than good enough for the money. I stayed two nights to do a quick tour whilst working in Shanghai. I love a firm bed personally and the staff were... More

My group enjoyed our stay here. It was easy to get to from the airport using mass transit. Rooms were clean with plenty of outlets and space and were cleaned daily. It is close to the Forbidden City and the Wangfujing shopping street and subway stop. Would recommend to travelers who are on a budget but don't want to do... More

location is good , just 5 mins walk from tiannamen square. also has a large food market and pedestrianised shopping street just behind it. room was basic and clean and staff were helpful when needed. as is custom in china the beds are rock hard breakfast was laughable, everything was cold, toasters were dangerous and the only juice available was... This hotel had a decent location. Near to some tourist sites but about 10 minute walk to any restaurants. Rooms are not as clean as in the pictures- beds and towels are clean, but floors could use a scrub. The walls were totally scuffed up and the hotel smelled like smoke a lot of the time. That said, its pretty... More

Very good location. Reception staff rather abrupt and unhelpful. Room comfortable but like all other Chinese hotels, even if the areas are "non smoking" , everything reeks of cigarette smoke as visitors smoke everywhere. Basic breakfast, more Chinese food than western. Stick to toast and jam. Coffee n tea available. Excellent massage place right across the road, clean and hygienic.... More

Conviently situated for Wangfunjin street, forbidden city and subway. Hotel not easy to find on street for taxi. Reception speak broken English enough to book you in. Rooms adequate bed is hard but they all are in china, extra quilt in cupboard we used as a mattress topper. Free coffee/tea facilities and free water. Didn't use on site restaurant. Used... More

Our taxi driver had trouble locating the hotel at first due to the tree-lined Nanheyan Street, which blocked the signboard. When we did find the entrance, we had a good laugh. Check-in was swift. The usual key deposit needs to be paid. But due to an incident at the nearby Tiananmen Square a couple of days before we arrived, we... More

We took a cab to Citytel Inn - the location wasn't easy for the driver to find. We got into the hotel around 2AM and found the check-in process quite easy. However, it's the first time that I saw a hotel that would require security check on the guest's luggage (not a mere scan from the outside, but you have... More

Close to metro lines, forbidden city, main high street, resturants and shops. Little store next to hotel was really cheap for a piece of fruit and orange juice for breakfast every morning. Free bottels of water and facitlity to top up water in the lobby. 24 hour reception. Travel guide in hotel spoke very good English and was very helpful... More
