I recently received an e-mail from the Tourbooking China website (beijing landscapes), through which I booked and paid for a one night stopover here, to say that my booking is being cancelled as "this hotel only accepts Chinese guests" Lisa from the website was very apologetic and refunded my money immediately. fair warning to anyone making arrangements to stay here... I agree with the comments of the previous reviewer. My parents were put in a very small room and changed to another room on request, however the new room had a really dirty carpet. My room was fine except the shower in the bathroom was broken so you couldn't adjust the temperature. This was a particular problem as the water... More

the hotel management was very helpful and polite, attentive to the needs and also to book taxis, very gently; We were given a room on the top floor with really dirty carpet, dirty bathroom; we asked to change rooms, but we were given a ground floor room really small, no carpet, cleaner, but always dirty bathroom. yet, the location is... Lovely, quaint, traditional courtyard hotel. If you're looking for upmarket hotel with all the modern day luxuries, then this may not be for you. Situated further back from Nanchizi Street. Peaceful and quiet. The room we were in was lovely and spacious with airconditioning which was a blessing. 1 queen and 1 single. Very comfortable and quiet. Nice and clean.... More

We booked this because most reviews said they are very helpful and speaks very good English. They were right. We needed a lot of help in directions. We stayed in a ground floor corner room. It was secluded but the entrance to the room was unkempt and a bit smelly. The bed covers/linens were itchy. The bed was as hard... More

The title should say it all (see Ji House !) For more details... Getting here is a bit tricky but usual with most hutong places. The atmosphere is nice if it is your first time to China, but for expats and Chinese, the atmosphere and courtyard are average at best. It's nice that it is covered for when it rains,... More

Excellent location (500m from north-east exit of Tian'anmen station, just follow Nanchizi street [south chizi st. in Google maps] until the sign with the hutong on the right side appears). The hotel staff was very friendly and has good command of English. Particularly the young women (we don't remember her name, unfortunately) was extremely nice and helpful. The rooms are... More

This hotel is perfect for a Chinese flair and style. If you want to experience staying in a courtyard, which is the ancient lifestyle, here it is. There are many courtyard in the Hutongs to stay at but I chose this one because the courtyard was enclosed. We came the last week of March and wasn't sure of the weather... More

The rooms were okay, but the bathrooms were a bit dirty. The courtyard was quite nice, although the smokiness from an establishment in the basement completely ruined the atmosphere. The staff was average, but moved our unpacked belongings from one room to another while we were out without informing us.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Bonus: location & accommodating/helpful staff! Simple tasty breakfast of bacon and eggs each day for about $3CAN. Awesome location; approximately 10 minute walk from Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City. Felt safe in area at night. Extra Bonus: We had previously booked a return transfer to airport with another company. Staff at hotel arranged a cheaper... More
