I had a 5 night reservation and left after 1 horrible night. My bed in a 4 person dorm still had the dirty sheets of the previous guest on it when I arrived at 10pm. The place is filthy and crowded. I had to remove them and make the bed with fresh sheets myself. No lockers are available, if you... More

We stayed there for 7 nights good side: the bed is cheap and probably the cheapest in Beijing. Bad sides: I stayed in 4 bed dorm and it was crowded and very dirty, I found a lot of hair and dust on the bed and I had never seen any staff clean the dorm beds during the period of stay.... More

WHAT WE GOT: Twin room (2 beds), A/C, ensuite WC, hot water shower, Western toilet, free wifi (200RMB/night with HI discount). PROs: All front desk staff were exceptionally helpful with an excellent command of English. They helped numerous times with figuring out train tickets and drew helpful maps with both Chinese characters and English -- a big help in navigating... More

Lama Temple has many advantages: a great location close to the subway, nice enough employees, nice fellow travellers, a great hutong alley with $3/meal restaurants right outside the door, and a pool table that is one of the most lopsided in history(which makes every shot an adventure and part of the fun:]). So the negative? Avoid the Private Rooms (if... More

I stayed at Lama Hostel 4 bed dorm for 7 nights and was quite content. For RMB68 you get a bed, soft enough by Chinese standards, and for the extra RMB10 I was also able to rent a towel. Lockers are outside but very conveniently located next to the rooms (at least in my case). Hot showers were available 24/7... More

Great location, on a side street right next to BeiXinQiao subway station. There were tons of restaurants and a grocery store right down the street. The staff were also very friendly and helpful every time I went to ask them a question. The dorm area (I stayed in a 4 bed dorm room, 65 RMB/ night) was okay- the beds... More

Stayed there while visiting friends in BJ for two nights last months. Excellent location, great price, elegant Chinese-style rooms. Everything is just great! Foosball table, pool table, a bar, a mini cinema, lounge and tons of books/magazines avaliable. The only thing is that the bathroom could have been cleaner - with better facilities. Nice little place overall.

not a particularly social hostel. the place is clean. the staff are not that great-- they dont really speak english, not that helpful, quick to make up excuses, not willing to show me a map of the subway... and they are crazy paranoid about showing people rooms or letting non-guests do anything but stand in the lobby. (im not exaggerating,... More
